Help! My Blog's Been Commandeered!

So I went thrifting with my friend, Paul, a few weeks ago and we took pictures of his Halloween costume for a blog post! I gave him complete freedom with the following post...
Shirt - Nautica // Blazer - Perma Prest (Thrifted) // Hat - Party City // Pants - Croft & Barrow // Shoes - Nunn Bush // Pipe not shown

Hello everybody! My name is Paul, and I’m the one in all of these pictures that you see above. Rebekah decided to give me full reign on writing the dialogue to this post (bad idea on her part)!  But let’s face it; if it was Rebekah writing this post, she would probably be talking something along the lines of “I’m feeling this creative today, blah blah blah school, blah blah something about art/my camera.”  I think that sounds about right… what do you guys think? Anyway, the reason why I’m on this blog is because I went thrifting/shopping with Rebekah for a ship captain’s costume for a murder mystery party. Now for the 2 guys that are out there reading this post, take note that if you plan on going shopping for clothes, it’s a good idea to take a female friend along with you! First, it’s always good to go with someone else to make sure that you look good in what you buy, and second, if you’re trying to impress girls with your clothes, it’s probably good to have one make sure you look good!

Anyway, the murder mystery party was great! If you've never been to one before, the idea behind the party is to become different characters for the night, have somebody “die”, and then the group needs to find out who the killer is! I would greatly encourage people to do it, because it’s a lot of fun (unlike Rebekah, who has no life or soul)!  I think the big thing that made it a lot of fun was the fact that it was very relaxed compared to a normal party. This would keep the extroverts happy because they can be around people and the introverts happy because it’s not overwhelming to them.

Alright, I know that I’d love to stay and spice up this blog more, but it’s not mine, nor is it my cup of tea (maybe it would be if it was chai; chai’s pretty solid), so I shall hand the reigns over to the evil, soulless vessel of a woman that is Rebekah. Maybe I’ll be on here some other time; that is if she hasn't killed me over the things that I've written! It was lovely to… er, um… meet(?) you all, and I hope that you all have a wonderful day!

Same post...but with my commentary
Hello everybody! My name is Paul, and I’m the one in all of these pictures that you see above. Rebekah decided to give me full reign on writing the dialogue to this post (bad idea on her part)! Yeah, that was probably a bad idea! But let’s face it; if it was Rebekah writing this post, she would probably be talking something along the lines of “I’m feeling this creative today, blah blah blah school, blah blah something about art/my camera.” No kidding. My blog's been awfully boring as of late. But hey..."I wasn't feeling creative"  I think that sounds about right… what do you guys think? Anyway, the reason why I’m on this blog is because I went thrifting/shopping with Rebekah for a ship captain’s costume for a murder mystery party. Now for the 2 guys that are out there reading this post, take note that if you plan on going shopping for clothes, it’s a good idea to take a female friend along with you! First, it’s always good to go with someone else to make sure that you look good in what you buy, and second, if you’re trying to impress girls with your clothes, it’s probably good to have one make sure you look good! Third, most girls love shopping!

It's true. I think the big thing that made it a lot of fun was the fact that it was very relaxed compared to a normal party. This would keep the extroverts happy because they can be around people and the introverts happy because it’s not overwhelming to them.

Alright, I know that I’d love to stay and spice up this blog more, but it’s not mine, nor is it my cup of tea (maybe it would be if it was chai; chai’s pretty solid), for the record...I love chai so I shall hand the reigns over to the evil, soulless vessel of a woman that is Rebekah. Again, for the record, I am not only not at all offended by this, but I love hearing this. My friends call me "Soulless One." Maybe it's the ginger hair...maybe it's not... Maybe I’ll be on here some other time; that is if she hasn't killed me over the things that I've written! When I kill you, it won't be for this writing...I've got plenty of other reasons. It was lovely to… er, um… meet(?) you all, and I hope that you all have a wonderful day!

Well! Hope y'all had a wonderful Halloween! And I hope you enjoyed this guest post of sorts :)

Starry Eyed

Dress - Modcloth // Jean Jacket - Unknown // Necklace - Forever21 // Shoes - Hotcakes

Man I love galaxy/celestial print anything. I wish I could wear this dress more, but it really does not work with tights. I mean really. It was a wee bit chilly when I wore this dress so I had some nylons underneath at first...but wow, the walk from my car to the art building was so fun! The skirt of this dress was basically glued to my legs. So I ran to the bathroom and ripped off those nylons as fast as I could :p Aaaanyways, yeah. I'm gonna be sad that I can't wear this dress anymore for awhile :( Unless I can figure out a way to get rid of major static cling. Any suggestions? I've tried lotion, walmart's static cling stuff...nothing really seems to work :/

The Great Indoors

Shirt - Thrifted // Cardigan - Liz Clairborne (Thrifted) // Skirt - Jones New York (Thrifted) // Shoes - St. John's Bay // Tights - JCPenney

These pictures are a bit old, but as you can see I tried taking some pictures outside. To be honest with you, I still prefer the inside pictures at my house. My yard leaves (um...pun not intended) much to be desired. And now, with my oak tree dropping a few thousand leaves a day, it's just crazy. I trees. And I especially like oak trees, but seriously there are days (well, maybe every day) when I just want to take a chainsaw to that darn thing! I can spend hours raking and by the next morning I can't even see my yard! omg! stupid tree! Ok, tree rant over. The original point I was trying to make was that my yard is kind of gross looking right now and it's just easier (and less populated) taking pictures inside :pq

On an unrelated note...the sad thing is that I would have posted this yesterday, but I didn't want to get up to check the brands of my skirt and shirt :p Granted I've been pretty sick the past few days. But still...just a bit lazy.

Good News, Everyone

Dress - Monteau // Tights - George // Boots - Yoki // Cardigan - JCPenney // Cami - Walmart

Just imagine the title in Professor Farnsworth's voice.

The good news is...I'm finally feeling a bit more creative again. Which may mean more blog posts. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing! I've spent so much time on homework the past week that I'm starting to look at life like I'm still on the computer. Like I want to hit control-z if I want to undo something...in real life. And a couple of days ago I saw a crack on this one lampshade in my living room...no joke, I actually thought to myself... yeah, so I'll just use the lasso tool and select that undamaged part of the lampshade. then I'll just paste it on top of the damage and problem solved....oh wait, this isn't photoshop. Maybe I just need sleep. And a new lamp shade.

On another note, I'm so sad 'cause I just finished season 9 of Futurama. There is a 10th season, but it's not on Netflix yet! Darn! Does anyone else want All My Circuits to be a real show?

Learning is Fun...Sometimes

Shirt & Scarf - Thrifted // Skirt - Gander Mountain (seriously) // Tights - Merona // Boots - Charlotte Russe // Coat - Delia's

Wow, I have been extremely busy the past couple weeks! Even though I've had a lot of homework, I'm actually really enjoying it! (um, most of it...) For example...I just spent 10+ hrs restoring a really damaged b&w photograph. And even though it was a bit tedious I really loved that kind of work! That was for my Digital Imaging class. Honestly, that's been probably my most useful class so far. I've been practicing a lot out of class as well. So, since I only have a crappy point-and-shoot camera, I took some of the pictures I took in the summer and edited them. Here's my favorite shot...I didn't realize how bad the original really looked until now. But hey, that's what editing's for :p

What do you think?

But it's Still Warm?

Shirt - Body Central // Skirt - Talbots (Thrifted) // Shoes - Faded Glory

Well hey, I guess I had a few pictures left over from the summer. Figured I'd post them before it got too cold. ...although, I guess it's been pretty warm lately. Anyways, good news! I passed my foundation review on Monday! I'm so happy that's over with! Just so you know, Foundation Review is where a panel of the school's instructors look over specific work from a few different classes and decide whether or not you can continue in your major. So yeah...kind of important. I got some good constructive criticism too, so it was definitely a valuable experience. But I'm definitely glad I don't have to worry about it anymore!

I Need a New Memory Card

Shirt - Faded Glory // Shorts - Faded Glory // Belt - Cotton On // Scarf - Thrifted // Moccasins - Maurices // Tights - Walmart

A new memory card...if only it were that easily. Sometimes I feel like my brain's memory is completely full 'cause I can remember random things like song lyrics and quotes from...well, everything. But when it comes to basically anything else (especially new things!) I'm essentially useless. I could sing the you entire theme song for The Muppet Show right now (and a lot of other shows, sadly)...but I could not tell you what day of the week it is or all the other stuff that I can't remember right now! For the record, I'm pretty sure it's Friday. But then again I was convinced it was Friday back on what I think was actually Wednesday. No, it was really funny. One of my instructors said we had an assignment due Friday and I was like today? It can't be due today! the instructor then reminded me that it was only Wednesday... yeah, that took a few minutes to sink in.

Part of my bad memory might be due to excessive daydreaming. Hey, I get lost in my mind palace sometimes. And if you get that reference (Sherlock) you, my friend, are awesome. Then, if Sherlock has a mind palace, I must have a mind bungalow.*

So basically...my mind needs a new memory card. :p It's not like I'm not trying either! I'm working so hard to remember things. Right now I've been using the notepad on my cellphone to write myself little notes throughout the day. Wow, that is really helping! You know how I've said that sometimes I have a good idea for a blog post in the middle of the day, but by the time I'm ready to write that idea is gone? Well, this idea I wrote down in the morning and now I actually remembered to write it! So ironically, I remembered to write a post about my bad memory. Ha.

Btw watch this.

It's hilarious. Gosh, I love Roberto--probably one of my favorite Futurama characters.

*Yes, mom. You get full credit for mind bungalow....

Too Tired to Think of a Title

Shirt - Liz Clairborne // Skirt - Thrifted // Belt - Cato's // Shoes - Faded Glory

So, I've actually been taking outfit photos the past week, but I really just haven't felt like taking the time to write anything. Well, actually this darn typography project is just using all my creative juices :/ (and I don't even think it turned out that well) Seriously, I think I've working on that poster about 12 hours at least in just the past few days. Not including the past several weeks I've been working on it. And it's not like that's my only class...gosh I have other homework too!

Speaking of other homework the last pic is of my first photography project. Honestly, I think it turned out really well considering that I really haven't used a camera before starting this blog. And this isn't digital either. This is darkroom stuff. I developed all that myself! Not really my favorite thing to do. But, the end result is ok I guess. I am excited about eventually getting a DSLR though. Using this camera has been fun to use 'cause even though it's all manual, the quality is so much better than my awesome point-and-shoot camera :p

Well...I probably should have gone to bed awhile ago...but I was studying for a midterm. Gosh, I've got so many projects due and tests this week it's crazy! And I'm still really sleep deprived from last weekend. I went to a conference with the Navs...but I might talk more about that later.

Hope y'all have a great day!

Bewitching

Dress & Belt - American Living // Jacket - Unknown // Shoes - Hotcakes

So while I was, again, working on poster designs today I watched a bunch of Bewitched episodes. I don't know about you, but I just love old tv shows. It's weird 'cause I remember liking this show as a kid, but now for some reason it was almost irritating. The costumes and makeup were really cool, but the interactions between Darrin and Samantha were really weird! I get that they love each other, but Darrin's really controlling and doesn't handle change well while Samantha is just so easily offended! Ah, stereotypes. And It's like every episode's plot is dependent on some ridiculous miscommunication... There really isn't much they have in common either. Obviously, since it's a tv show, it's not based in reality. But I still doubt their marriage would work in real life! Anyways, those are my random thoughts :p
