More Antiques!

Dress - Cotton On // Belt - Cotton On // Scarf - Thrifted // Hat - Charlotte Russe // Boots - l.e.i.

Wow, I know I'm white, but I look seriously ghostly in these pictures! I guess that's what I get for rockin' SPF 90 (So sad I couldn't find a YouTube video of this 'cause the sunscreen thing's a Cougar Town quote...although I really do wear sunscreen 24/7).

So I know this outfit is very similar to one I wore earlier this week...but technically it was last month now that I think of it. And, I even wore something similar on Wednesday when I wasn't feeling too creative. Obviously I love this dress! Funny, I bought it last year and I never wore it. Not once. And now I can't stop wearing it! Good thing I didn't get rid of it when I was organizing my closet.

Anyways, today I went to some more antique stores with my relatives today! First we stopped by this co-op filled with individually owned booths. And...I found a ton of vintage advertisements again! At first I wondered why I found the advertisements so fascinating, but since I'm majoring in graphic design it actually makes sense. I need to stop buying vintage advertisements though, but I just love them! I really hope I get the job I'm interviewing for tomorrow 'cause I really really need money now. Then we stopped by the Miscellaneous Barn for a little bit. There are a ton of buildings there and it's so fun to just wander around! If you live in the Cleveland area, you should check it out!

Well, that's it for today! Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great day!

We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo....

Dress - Mossimo // Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Maurices

Does anyone remember this Raffi song? (Note: I have no idea who those people are in the video...it's just the only video with that song uploaded) Our zoo trip was totally spontaneous (Hail, Spontaneous) and we decided only the night before to go. I said I wanted to go to the zoo...and we did. The very next day. My family's not normally like that so it was pretty awesome.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is a pretty big zoo. So we didn't see everything. But, we really came to see the dinosaur exhibit! I still remember my first time seeing this when I was really young (4 I think? But, my mom would know for sure). It was still really fun, but mostly fun remembering my first time at the exhibit. It's a traveling exhibit, so it's only there occasionally. We also went to Australian Adventure and the Primate, Cat, and Aquatics building. Definitely a spontaneously fun day! Oh, it was also great that my Papaw got to come with us to the zoo! He lives in Florida and we don't get to see him that much, but he drove up to Ohio to visit us!

I'm also excited at how well my photography has turned out recently. I'm really happy with these pictures! Especially the second to last one. I meant to only take a couple, but I got really distracted and ended up finding a really cool place with awesome lighting and taking...well a lot more than I meant to. I also started playing around with the focus and more with the lighting. I think I may be getting the hang of it! Anyways, I got a bunch of other pictures (landscape--not outfit pictures) that I may eventually share with y'all. Just not today. We got enough between zoo and outfit pictures.

Well, thanks for reading and I hope y'all have a wonderful day! And any photography tips are welcome!

And...here are a few zoo pictures. PS Still listening to the Oblivion soundtrack!!!!
Elephant Encounter

Jellyfish! (And I just realized that I use that exact same strawberry jelly as in the video!)

Have any of you seen the TV show Primeval? Watch it! If you like Doctor Who, you'll like Primeval. There are dinosaurs in every episode of Primeval and one where there are Raptors running loose in a mall.

Ok so here are some little dinosaurs...not sure what kind. But anyways, I know you can't really see it but there's a deer in the background. I wish my cell phone camera had zoom 'cause this was really funny. Just imagine growling dinosaurs in the foreground and a deer calmly grazing in the background!

I have a big head and little arms...

Summer Movies

Dress - Cotton On // Cardigan - J. Crew (Thrifted) // Belt - Cotton On // Scarf - Thrifted // Shoes - Faded Glory

I went with one of my friends to see Oblivion today. Honestly, I hadn't even seen the trailer until last night. But, it looked pretty interesting. I love post apocalyptic films and this one was really well done! There was one thing at the end that I found...weird. And one plot point that I didn't think was explained that well. But...no spoilers here. I'll let you form your own opinion. Oh, but the music was AMAZING! Seriously as soon as I got home I found the soundtrack on Spotify. And I'm listening to it now. Nothing like blogging to epic music!

Thanks for reading and I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Back to Normal?

Shirt - American Eagle (Thrifted) // Dress - Monteau // Shoes - Faded Glory

So we're back to regular outfit posts finally!  I'm super tired of blogging after last week. I think I told y'all that my first California trip is why I stopped posting on that first blog. If I didn't really enjoy outfit posts I might have to take a long break from posting. I'm so glad that that I'll be able to read about my trip later, but I definitely don't want to do long diary-like posts like that every day.

Also, I'm so happy to finally have the good camera back, but I'm not too happy with these pictures. I only had a few minutes to run outside between birthday activities....and then it started raining!

I hope you all had a great memorial day! Today was my sister C's birthday as well so we had a fun day. I'm going to make her fun birthday cake when she has her party, but today we had an amazing chocolate trifle! Well, thanks for reading!

Daisies and Spiderwebs

I've been looking forward to this since the last time I was in California....Winchester House! I went the last time I was in California, and I loved it so much that I couldn't wait to go back!!! Having been on the tour before I actually remembered some of the things on the tour (weird, I know! I usually remember next to nothing!). But, it was still so amazing. No photography was allowed in the house, but I got some outside pictures. If you're ever in the San Jose area or just California at all, for the love of Pete you MUST go see Winchester House. (Plus, Winchester...Supernatural...yes.)

When Sarah Winchester's husband died, she inherited tons of money which she eventually used to finance the building of the house. Apparently a psychic in Boston told her to build a house continuously to confuse/appease the spirits of those who were killed with the Winchester rifle. So she bought an 8 room farmhouse and just remodeled and added on to it 24/7 until the day she died. She spend over 5 million dollars on the house. It really is a beautiful house and it's really bizarre. There are doors to nowhere, doors that open to several story drops, windows on the inside, stairs that go nowhere, and lots of other weird things. She loved daisies, spiders, and the number 13--these appear throughout the house. The design of the house is so weird and apparently she met with spirits everday and got the design plans from them for the next day. Ahh! There's so much more, but you'll have to go and see for your self. Or...watch this clip perhaps (...with the wacko psychic at the end)? This clip might be better...yeah, this one's definitely better. Way better.

We ended up going on the behind the scenes tour as well, which was super fun! Then we drove out to Muir Woods for a few minutes. Well, we wanted to stay longer, but due to a ...wrong turn...we ended up getting there right before they closed the park. But, it was so beautiful! That was another place I went to last trip, and I even tried to get a similar picture to one I got last time. Kind of like I did with the gorilla in RFC. I'm surprised we made it to Muir Woods though because I saw a sign that said Muir Woods --> but the GPS said to go the other way. But, it turns out I was right all along! We almost ran out of gas...and the wrong turn put us a wee bit behind schedule. Just so y'all know, I am absolutely horrible with directions. I have no sense of direction whatsoever. So, the fact that I was right when the GPS was wrong is just ...amazing. I will never forget this. Ever.

Day's not over yet :p We were tired after that, but we decided to head back out to Fisherman's Wharf to eat 'cause it's close-ish to our hotel. We ended up eating at Boudin Sourdough. Clam chowder in a sourdough bowl? Yes!

Well...get ready for a ton of pictures. Hey, we went to Winchester House and Muir Woods in the same day.
Awesome hardhats for the behind the scenes tour!

Happy Birthday, M!

Dress - Cocomo via Walmart // Shirt - American Heritage Girls Leader Shirt // Shoes - Maurices

You're going to see a lot of birthday posts in the next several weeks! Out of the 10 people in my family, the majority of birthdays are from May 17-June 16. And as the cake decorator of the family (well, my dad's pretty good too...but I kind of took over when he got too busy) I have, well, a lot of work to do. And 'cause the cakes are supposed to be surprises I have to do them at night when everyone else is asleep! Now that I think about it, it's funny that I remember being tired during the last several cakes I made...it's weird 'cause I'm usually very awake at night. Anyways, back to my original point. Which was... .... .... Oh yeah. My brother's birthday is today. M just turned 14 today! We adopted him from Ukraine just last fall and he fits into our family so well :) Happy Birthday to my awesome brother, M!

My brother is an active boy scout, which is awesome anyway but is more impressive when you consider that he has had to learn a lot of English over the past year and is still learning more every day! My brothers are in boy scouts and my sisters are in an organization called American Heritage Girls. Or AHG for short. That's why I'm in my awesome, oversized polo today. I think I may have said this in my About Me, but I'm too lazy to click on the link to check...anyways, I'm a Junior Leader for AHG (I can't be an official leader until I'm 21) and, although I've been a little MIA this year due to school, I went to tonight's meeting. I started helping out last year, and I was asked to be a junior leader because basically I was already helping a lot, but this way it was official...and I got this great shirt :/ As you can see, it's not really a great shirt, but I've recently found some cute ways to wear it without it looking too awful! So yeah, this isn't one of my favorite outfits, but the shirt was a necessity today, and I like the way I wore it :)

Counting down the days 'til my California trip! I leave Monday morning! Read about my first trip here! Hope y'all have a great day and thanks for reading :)
