Too Much

Shirt - a.n.a // Skirt - H&M (Thrifted) // Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted)  // Belt and Shoes - Body Central

I've gone through my closet several times over the last few months and I've gotten rid of so much stuff and yet there's still so much left! I've been taking my unwanted clothes to a mission nearby so I'm glad that at least they'll be put to good use. Still it makes me think--even after removing excess I still have excess. And it's kind of disgusting really. But it does make me be thankful for what I have.

One Year and One Week . . . ish

Dress - Tocce (Thrifted)// Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Belt - Nine & Co. // Shoes - GoJane

So I've been officially blogging for an entire year now! Technically March 5 was the actual date...that's why it's one year and one week. With midterm projects and stuff, I kind of had to put this off a bit. I had wanted to wait so I could put together a cool post with my thoughts on blogging after an entire year and some of my favorite photos. But, that did not happen. My life will hopefully be a little less crazy next week (hopefully) but yeah, I figured that it might be better to just get something posted now and wait 'til I actually have time to do a good job.

One of the huge projects I've been working on is my portfolio website! Now, it's far from being done. But...you can see what I've done so far here.

New Schedule!

Dress - Forever21 // Cardigan - JCPenney // Shirt - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Boots - Delia's

When I started blogging I really didn't have much going on and I really needed to do something that at least felt productive in my spare time. I really had fun with it in the spring and especially in the summer (probably because it was warm!). And then I started posting less and less during the last semester. I knew I didn't want to stop blogging altogether, but I also didn't want a schedule. Not using a schedule really worked before and I was posting several times a week. But, now I'm considerably busier--I also finally have a job--and I still want to keep blogging. And, as you can see, I've done a great job with that (sarcasm).

Well, as I said before, I don't really want a schedule. And I don't want to completely stop posting. I also don't want to post every day. So, here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to post 1-2 times a week now (sort of a schedule). Doesn't really sound like much, but it's a huge improvement from posting 1-2 times a month. Nice, Rebekah, nice.

At this point I've been blogging on and off for almost a year and I've decided that I like it--so no quitting yet! And, I've got . . . well, a lot of car posts that I'll probably space out over the next couple of weeks. I also see that I still have almost all my followers still--even after not really blogging frequently for so long. Thanks for sticking around!

Mauve on Over

Shirt - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Tights - Mossimo // Shoes - Rocket Dog // Jacket - Delia*s

Yeah, I know. Nothing I'm wearing is mauve. The reference? My lipstick! I have not worn lipstick in years (balm stain, yes...lipstick, no) but one day I decided I wanted this color of lipstick. So I bought it. And well, I've worn it every day since! It's L'Oreal Saucy Mauve. And I kind of really love the color! It smells kind of weird though. Like it doesn't smell bad, it just smells like lipstick. And to me, that's never been a pleasant smell. I guess I've gotten used to it, but I don't know... we'll see!

Anyways, I'm really hoping I don't get sick again so I can focus more on blogging! (random subject change, i know) I've basically given up on not trying to get sick. No amount of hand sanitizer has kept me well this semester. Seriously, it's like the germs can infect me from 10 feet away! Yeah...it's been a fun semester. (sarcasm) If one of my classmates is sick I have it the next day! And, well, there's always at least one sick person (besides me) in the classroom...and that's why I've basically given up. Except for the hand sanitizer. I will never give that up. I do not apologize for my love of clean hands. (It also works in a pinch if a certain feline decides to sneeze on my face in the middle of the night...)

Yeah, I don't even know what I originally wanted to write about, but I wanna get back to watching more Psych (Whaaaaaat?) and sleeping. So I'm gonna leave you with that lovely description of my various ailments throughout the semester. (Which, in reality, wasn't even that thorough. I could get several more blog posts out of this...) Anyways, what do y'all do to deal with colds and other nasty fall/winter ailments?

The Girl Who Waited...

The Hungry Earth Outfit 1: Shirt - St. John's Bay // Shorts - Walmart // Tights - JCPenney // Boots - Unknown // Jacket - Delia's
The Vampires of Venice Outfit 2: Shirt - Mossimo // Belt - Nine & Co. // Skirt - Gander Mountain // Tights - Mossimo // Boots - Hotcakes // Jacket - Delia's // Scarf - Walmart
The Rebel Flesh Outfit 3: Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - Old Navy // Boots - l.e.i. // Jacket - Forever21

The girl who waited...an entire week to post. Well, I guess not an entire week, but it's been awhile. After I posted Paul's Halloween costume on my blog I was really looking forward to posting mine! Now, technically I only wore the first outfit this year, but I wanted pictures of the other two that I wore last year...and now I have all of my Amy Pond outfits together! I only went to one Halloween party this year :( because I was so sick the weekend before Halloween. Oh, and this is what I wore to school on Halloween, and I have one more picture to post of my other costume.

So, I don't know about you, but I just love Doctor Who! And Amy's outfit's are so fun! Seriously, she's why I own a bomber jacket. Yeah, Amy is probably my favorite companion. I could go on for awhile about how much I love Doctor Who...but I just realized I have one more assignment to do before tomorrow morning! Oops!

Too Tired to Think of a Title

Shirt - Liz Clairborne // Skirt - Thrifted // Belt - Cato's // Shoes - Faded Glory

So, I've actually been taking outfit photos the past week, but I really just haven't felt like taking the time to write anything. Well, actually this darn typography project is just using all my creative juices :/ (and I don't even think it turned out that well) Seriously, I think I've working on that poster about 12 hours at least in just the past few days. Not including the past several weeks I've been working on it. And it's not like that's my only class...gosh I have other homework too!

Speaking of other homework the last pic is of my first photography project. Honestly, I think it turned out really well considering that I really haven't used a camera before starting this blog. And this isn't digital either. This is darkroom stuff. I developed all that myself! Not really my favorite thing to do. But, the end result is ok I guess. I am excited about eventually getting a DSLR though. Using this camera has been fun to use 'cause even though it's all manual, the quality is so much better than my awesome point-and-shoot camera :p

Well...I probably should have gone to bed awhile ago...but I was studying for a midterm. Gosh, I've got so many projects due and tests this week it's crazy! And I'm still really sleep deprived from last weekend. I went to a conference with the Navs...but I might talk more about that later.

Hope y'all have a great day!

At Least my Work is Done!

Shirt - Forever21 (Thrifted) // Skirt - Gap (Thrifted) // Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Shoes - Restricted Betsy // Socks - Marc's

Well, I don't know about you, but I kind of like the results of my impromptu blog re-design!  But I really need to blog earlier in the day...I worked on my poster designs for several hours and I, again, don't feel like writing. Come to think of it, I actually had a very productive day. Aside from doing 4 poster designs and a website design, I also did a ton of housework and finally purchased a rake! Yeah, I have a huge oak tree in my front yard and...well it's shedding :p Most of the leaves haven't fallen off yet and I still ended up picking up two bags of leaves!! I'm really not looking forward to the rest of the leaves falling off.

Bringing Creative Back!

Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Shirt - a.n.a. // Socks - Marc's // Cardigan - Mossimo // Shoes - St. John's Bay

Yeah, so I didn't actually go to the Brown's game, but I was right across from the stadium and just had to take some pictures of all the people. It was ridiculous how many people there were! We couldn't even park in the Science Center's parking lot 'cause it was a Brown's game day. And there were so many people that they started walking in the street--in front of cars--and wouldn't even stop walking to let us into the place where we could actually park. Seriously, people really were walking in the middle of the street like "the Brown's game is more important than my life."

Anyways, the real reason we went to Cleveland was to go to the Titanic exhibit at the Science Center. Wow, it was amazing! So well done and well designed too! I never get tired of studying the Titanic. There was no photography allowed in the exhibit...so I have no pictures for you. Probably the coolest part was one part of the exhibit that showed which passengers were headed for the Northeast Ohio area.

On another note...if you've visited my blog before, you'll notice it looks completely different! I've been planning a new site design for awhile and well, this isn't it. I'm still planning the other one. But, I was bored and I just decided to do this! Also, I'm finally feeling creative again! Anyways, I'm kinda like this design...so at least I'm happy with it until my other new design is done :p

Finding...

Dress - INC International Concepts (Thrifted)  // Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Socks - Marc's // Shoes - St. John's Bay

...Inspiration. I really need some. There are times when I'm super creative and other times when I'm just...really not. I love art school, but I hate when I have an absolutely brilliant idea...after the assignment's due! Lately I've been trying to make myself be creative even when I don't feel like it. That's one reason I'm blogging now. I've had a long day and I'm just tired and done being creative. It's practice.

I think that's one reason my posts have been so (not) awesome lately. By the time I'm done with school and homework I'm just fresh out of creative. I've always loved being artistic and designing things, but I don't want it to become a chore. I want design to be something I love! So yeah, that's what I'm focusing on this semester--being creative when I have to and not just when I want to.

Fun Stuff

Dress - Converse One Star // Cardigan - Express // Socks - Target // Shoes - Restricted Betsy // Balm Stain - Revlon Charm

So I was finally a bit social today (and no, the pictures wont' resize again) and I spent the afternoon with my aunt, uncle, cousin, and two of my brothers. I may have lived in Akron for a year...but I still haven't been to most of the little diners and places by my house. So we checked out The Falls Deli and then went to Strickland's Frozen Custard. The Frozen Custard place was so cute! The interior was decorated with all these pictures from the 50s...ok so a bit cliché for an ice cream/custard place. But still, cute.

Later my friend Rachel came over to watch a movie. You might remember her. She used to be one of my photographers before she transferred to Kent. Anyways, so much fun! We watched Corpse Bride and then talked for awhile. I'm really not that social :p so I really had a lot of fun! Hope your weekend is great!
