In Love with Plaid

I love plaid anyway, but aren't the elbow patches on this adorable? This outfit is more wintery than I would like, but since it was hailing yesterday I was in the mood for comfy winter clothes. Well, really I just wanted to be warm. It was alright yesterday, but near the end of the day it really cooled off. Actually, it just got really cold. And then started hailing. And then got even colder. Basically winter weather. NOOO IT'S ALMOST MAY!!! DANG IT, NO MORE COLD! Phew, I just checked the weather and it looks like it's going to be warmer next week.

So, my entire wardrobe is on the floor of my room right now. It's been driving me crazy, 'cause I really want to get it all re-organized (it was organized before, but I had stuff that I needed to get rid of). But, now that I'm going through my stuff I suddenly want to keep it all and I'm finding ways to wear everything I want to get rid of. And sometimes I like stuff but I'm not sure I'll wear it... Anyways, I need y'all here to help me go through my closet!!

Oh, and if you just started reading my blog. I've recently been using it to help keep me accountable for reading the Bible and exercising. So today I did read the Bible, but I forgot about exercising :( Oops. At least I've been good every other day with exercising so far.

Well hope y'all have a great day! Thanks for reading :)

I Wear Your Grandma's Clothes

Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Skirt - Sorbia (Thrifted) // Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Rocket Dog (Modcloth-but they're out of stock) // Tights - Charlotte Russe // Earrings - Thrifted // Ring - Gift from my dad

I know the song says grandad, not grandma. But, it's my grandma's shirt. And belt. That woman really knew how to dress. When she passed away my mom and I kept a few of her clothes. My grandma was so creative--she could sew, paint, and DIY anything! I love that I can put on a shirt or a belt and think my grandma wore this. Anyways, sorry for starting out on such a somber note, it's just that these clothes remind me of my grandma. Funny thing is though, this outfit definitely looks like grandma clothes, but she had a much more modern style while I prefer vintage clothing. It's just the different ways we style the same things!

So I think my pictures have been turning out better, but not today. My cell phone camera takes pretty good pictures when there's good lighting. Well, it was really crappy weather all day (It was hailing at one point!!!) and dark by the time I got home...so not so great pictures. Oh well, as soon as I get a summer job I hope to invest in a better quality camera. Exercise and Bible reading...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

It's A Jungle Out There

Shirt - LOFT (thrifted) // Jacket - Delia*s // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Maurices // Earrings - Handmade // Rings - Thrifted // Scarf - Thrifted

The title has nothing to do with the fact that the theme song to Monk was playing... Ok ok so my scarf reminded me of a jungle or a safari or something and right then the theme song to Monk came on. And Wha-BAM! I have a post title. That's how blogging works, y'all. Just kidding. I actually don't even like the title 'cause it's not that original. If for some reason I do actually like the post title, I can almost guarantee you that it took me all day to come up with it.

So, on that note, I'd like to tell you how one of my blog posts is created. First I start planning my outfit the night before. Sometimes I will lay out my outfit on a chair so it's right there when I wake up. Once I've made up my mind I will completely change the outfit around 10 PM. Then I'll either wake up or still be awake at 2AM and change the outfit yet again. Once my alarm goes off I will stupidly decide that I can afford to sleep another 30 minutes. When I finally drag myself out of bed I'll realize that I'm running really late. So, I'll change the outfit again, rush to put on my makeup and do my hair, and then change my mind about the outfit once again.

Once I'm at school, obviously I can't change my mind about the clothes. Thank goodness or I might never be dressed (although I'll have many dang it, I should have worn that instead moments)! I then spend my time in between classes (...or during class...) trying to come up with post titles and stuff to write about. Finally when I get home and begin to write, I completely change my mind again and just write about what's on my mind at the moment. And (I repeat my earlier statement)...Wha-BAM blog post complete. Then the cycle starts all over again. Ok, so some of that may not be entirely true...but it might surprise you what parts are true! Ironically, at one point, I actually had the entire week's outfits planned out and hanging on a clothes rack...that didn't last long. Anyways, if you blog, how do you write your posts/plan outfits?

Excersice ...check. Bible Reading ...check. (and yesterday too...I just forgot to post it).

Well, hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading!

A Not So Rainy Day

Dress - Cocomo (Walmart) // Arrowhead Necklace - Skyline Caverns giftshop // Green Necklace - Thrifted // Turquoise Ring - Thrifted // Green Ring - Sky Caverns giftshop // Boots - Rocket Dog (Modcloth)

I was saving this post for a day when I had a lot to do and not a lot of time! That happens to be today. Ironically, it actually did rain today. I just wrote this post title in hopes that it wouldn't rain I guess...

It's funny 'cause I couldn't think of any other ways to style this dress when I put it on...so I almost didn't want to wear it for some reason. But, y the time I got home in the evening I'd thought of like 5 other ways to wear it. Honestly, I'm so surprised that I made it through the day without getting something on it! I'm usually a very messy person, and I was in the art building all day too! It was a Tuesday so that helped because I don't have any drawing classes that day. I can't wear any light colors Monday, Wednesday, or Friday because I have Life Drawing and that room is so full of charcoal!

So, here are some things I'm loving right now :

Song - Can't Stop by One Republic. Sorry for the weird pics in the video--it's the only full version of the song I could find.

TV Show - Well, I'm still watching Supernatural and Monk.

Movie - Stranded it's a re-imagining of Swiss Family Robinson. Plus, Andrew Lee Potts is in it.

Blog - A. Loo's Closet A Christian, stay-at-home mom with a fabulous, retro style!

Clothing - My chambray dress from JCPenney's (seen in this post).... except that the zipper just broke. Funny, now I want to wear it like every day, and it's probably just because I can't.

Oh, and before I forget. Yes, Bible reading and exercise completed!

Well, hope y'all have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading :)

Vacation Withdrawal

Shirt - Faded Glory (Yeah...I have some Walmart clothes :p) // Scarf - Charlotte Russe // Skirt - Gander Mountain (Seriously! Gander Mountain! It was like 8 years ago...me and my mom went to Gander Mountain for some outdoor stuff and instead found these skirts!) Belt - Cotton On // Shoes - Maurices // Rings - Skyline Caverns Gift Shop and Thrifted // Necklace (You can't really see it) - Skyline Caverns Gift Shop
Photos by me...unfortunately

Sorry for the bad pics and all my rambling already! I borrowed my mom's camera so I could try to figure out how to use it. Just in case I can't get a photographer I want to be able to take pictures myself. I was hoping to be able to take it outside and play around a little bit...but it didn't really work out. I've got a ton of homework and house stuff to get caught up on ...these pictures were actually taken at 3 in the morning. I finally finished unpacking (you can see my unpacked suitcase in some of the pics), but I still need to eat dinner :p Phew! I think I'm finally caught up on everything though! The vacation was totally worth it though! I am glad to be home though. I really like my house--even though it's still being renovated.

I think I've mentioned this before...but since my house is being renovated I don't have an oven. So yeah, that's my trusty microwave that I cook literally all my food in! I'm not complaining though :) It's amazing what I can cook in a microwave. As you can see...a mug brownie that happens to be in this awesome tiffany blue mug I just thrifted. Have I ever told you I absolutely love mugs? Well...I do. I have a lot of mugs. Mugs and shoes. That's what I collect. I got some good pictures today and I'm pretty sure I'll have time to go outside tomorrow to try to take better pictures! Obviously I've never done much photography. I did figure out how to use the tripod and self timer... so that's progress. And yay for my super awkward poses. I mean SUPER awkward. Whatever, I'll get better at this eventually!

My thoughts are so out of order at the moment...and consequently so is my writing. So, here's just some final thoughts. For some reason my cat likes to sleep on my suitcase...it's neither comfortable nor in the sun, so I have no idea why she sleeps there. Although, right now she is sprawled out on my back--what can I say, she's a cat. Yes, those are Dean Winchester eyes (the other eyes are Aiden Turner who plays Kili in The Hobbit) I had to do some eyes for life drawing. The child's face was also for life drawing--it's a copy of an Augustus John sketch. I had to scan some drawings in for a collage assignment. I think that's all, hopefully I'll be back to 100% soon!

What about you? Vacations are fun, but when they're done are you ready to get back into the swing of things? Or are you more exhausted than before your vacation (like me)? Well, thanks for reading, and I hope you have an awesome day!

Wow it's been a long day...as I'm writing this I'm eating a microwave mug cookie and watching Supernatural (Wooo!!!! I love Supernatural!!!!)! My house is kind of under construction right now...and I don't have a stove. I was living solely on Pizza Rolls until I discovered microwave mug recipies!! So amazing!! I can make eggs, muffins, and french toast (and cake, cookies, and brownies...) just in the microwave it's pretty awesome! Most of the recipes I use I found in this Buzzfeed article. There's a brownie recipe I use too...but I memorized it so I don't know the link. Yes, I memorized it--that should tell you how awesome this mug brownie is. Ok, nevermind I found the link here. I couldn't stand telling you how awesome the brownie was without giving y'all the recipie. In fact I'm kind of craving said brownie now...but darn it, if I didn't have a mug cookie just now. Anyways, the brownie is super amazing if you put a couple of chocolate chips in the center and then stick some caramel right in the center so it melts in the microwave....NOOO now I want a brownie! As you can tell I have the munchies...

Anyways it was pretty warmish today and I was able to walk to and from my car without a coat...until it got dark at least. I wish it was still light enough to take pictures outside...but ya know it's ok. Rachel's an amazing photographer and these pics came out much better than I thought they would--we had lighting issues. It's weird because I've had these shoes for years and yet I've never worn them until now! When I was just starting to look into fashion I bought these boots at a thrift store 'cause I though they looked weird and hey they're Steve Madden. That's a good brand right? So they sat in my closet for like two years and I never wore them! I was this close to pitching them, but now I'm so glad I kept them!!!! Anyways, I love this dress that I thrifted the other day and with a black dress and these shoes I feel like I'm going to a funeral in the 1800s... But hey, I really loved the outfit and I'm so glad to be wearing dresses again!

Oh yeah, today's outfit was inspired by this outfit over at Just Take a Bow!

Hope your day is fantastic! Don't forget to follow and like Finding Inspiration on Facebook!

Through the Woods

I wore this during spring break last week. I really wasn't expecting to go anywhere, so I really didn't put any thought into this outfit. So...this is what I look like when I just throw something on in the morning! Honestly though, I think it's way cuter than my outfits during midterms week. And I did put some thought into those...but I was really going for comfort and warmth! Anyways, as I write this I'm watching The Sound of Music. I haven't watching this movie in forever! I don't usually like musicals or girly movies, but I make an exception occasionally :)

So, there are a lot of blogs that I started following just because I liked the style and the pictures, but I just recently started reading the actual text. Before I started blogging I wasn't as interested in the reading, but now I really enjoy it--it's like getting to know the bloggers! Well this made me realize that I have a lot of improvement to do on the writing of my blog. I feel like the photos are getting better, but I'm not happy with the writing yet. So here's where I need your help. What do you like about the writing in your favorite blogs? What do you like about the writing in my blog and what could be improved? And what would you like me to write about?
