Monticello

Shirt - Thrifted // Skirt - Charlotte Russe // Necklace - Modcloth // Tights - Walmart // Shoes - Rocket Dog // Jacket - Thrifted

I think these are the last photos from the trip to Virginia. The lighting was nice when we went to Monticello so I took some senior pictures of Laura too!

We did a few tours, which were great, and the house was absolutely beautiful! There were a lot of books as well. I even bought a mug with the Thomas Jefferson quote "I cannot live without books," combining my love of mugs and books.

Pictures from Virginia

Well, it's the middle of finals week! I'm basically done with my projects--I really just have to turn things in. Anyways, here are a few random pictures from the trip to Virginia!

On Thursday we went horseback riding.

This was the view right outside the window!

And this is my family's vehicle. Nothing says "homeschool family" quite like a big white van.

DC

Skirt - Modcloth // Shirt - Merona // Cardigan - JCPenney // Shoes - Rocket Dog // Tights - Walmart // Necklace - Modcloth

What's sleep? It's finals week and sleep is something I'm looking forward to when this is all over.

Anyways, here are a few more pictures from the trip I took to Virginia. This is from the day we went to DC. We started out by going to the National Archives (which is the reason we decided to watch National Treasure when we got home that evening). After that we split up and three of my siblings (Laura, C, and M) went with me. We ended up going through several museums. Then we got a snack and sat on a bench in the mall to people watch. I found out later that in the same amount of time, the rest of my family only went to one museum--and that's why I'm so glad we divided into groups.

I'll leave you guys with these last two pictures from the Natural History Museum's gift shop. C's expression is just amazing and I think I look like I have a brain slug (Futurama) on my head.

Where Have I Been?

Hey! I know I've been gone for awhile, but the last few weeks have been ridiculously busy. I guess I'll just post a few pictures from Easter, which I spent in Virginia.

Dress - Nick & Mo // Cardigan - Thrifted // Shoes - Qupid // Tights - Walmart

I was sad to not go to the church I normally attend, TCBC, on Easter, but it was nice to be out of town! And it was nice to spend some time with my family. I don't remember what church we ended up going to, but it was pretty amazing. The pastor wore an entirely white suit--it was fantastic. And not one person could in the entire church could sing--bless their hearts. Still, they were praising God... as off-key as it was.

We took a few family photos too. This one's definitely my favorite

Lastly, as a bonus, here's what I wore Good Friday.

Spelunking!

Dress - Max Studio (Thifted) // Boots - l.e.i // Jacket - JCPenney's // Necklace - Thrifted // Claddagh Ring - Gift from my dad // Green Stone Ring - Skyline Caverns Gift Shop // Purse - Thrifted // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic //  Nail Polish - China Glaze Kinetic Candy
Photos by me, Laura, and Natalie

So yeah, I didn't actually go spelunking. But, I did take a tour of Skyline Caverns...so close enough :p I would love to go spelunking for real sometime though--it sounds super fun! Even the word is just fun to say... Anyways, yes we went on a tour of Skyline Caverns today! And, for me at least, it was the highlight of the trip! The cave was just so beautiful! I don't think words or the terrible pictures I took do it justice! I wish the tour wasn't so short...even though it was an hour long. I could have spent all day in that cave! Preferably with a better camera.

The stories of the cave were really interesting as well. The cave wasn't just discovered accidentally, Walter S. Amos was commissioned to find a cave that would bring in more tourists once Skyline Drive opened up. When he finally found the cave that eventually became Skyline Caverns, he also discovered rooms full of anthodite crystals! As I've said before it's beautiful--there have even been a lot of weddings inside! And of course I thought, Wow, it would be super cool to get married in this cave! Oh, another cool fact is that there's one stalactite that the public is allowed to touch and, at least according to the tour guide, it has been touched by Clint Eastwood, Bing Crosby, and Stephen King! Pretty cool, right :)

Anyways, after exploring Skyline Caverns we drove for a very long time on Skyline Drive--which was, of course, beautiful--and we stopped briefly to hike to Dark Hollow Falls. Isn't that the coolest name? My dad originally wanted to hike 6 miles, lowered it to 3, and then finally to a little over a mile. I love hiking, but he hikes like he's in a race...and I like to stop look at everything! I'm so glad we only hiked a mile because even after that we were all so tired! But, it was a gorgeous waterfall :)

Soooo sad it's my last day here! I really don't want to go back to school! But, I guess I've only got a few more weeks left. Which means I really gotta start applying for a summer job...

Well, I hope your day is fantastic! And visit Lipgloss and Crayons for #YOLOMONDAYS linkup!
