I have an obsession with plaid at the moment! And as I'm still cleaning my closet, I'm so excited to see how much plaid I have already! I got this dress years ago when I had no fashion sense whatsoever, but I am so glad I kept it. I can think of so many ways to style this dress--I can't wait to wear it again!

It's hard to believe that school is almost over. One of my classes ended already and it seems like it was January just yesterday. Oh wait, it was January cold just a few days ago....maybe that's why... Anyways, it seems like the cold spell is finally gone for good! I just checked the weather and it's in the high 70s all week long!!!! I'm so excited for warm weather! I'm still taking a cardigan with me, but I haven't had to use it. I probably should use it during my Production 1 class, but I'm stubborn and refuse to wear it because it's almost May even though I'm freezing. It seems that my classroom are all different temperatures too. Any classes in the Honors building are basically the same temperature as outside and the art building is all different. Drawing Techniques classroom is comfortable, Production 1 classroom is freezing, and the Life Drawing classroom is really hot because of all the bright lights in the room.

Well, now that it is warm enough to take pictures outside I'm actually going to miss campus. Seriously though, that's the only thing about the campus that I'll miss. I do think these pictures turned out very nice though :) Well, I exercised and read the bible today. I've been doing really well lately! This blog has really helped me to keep track of my Bible reading and exercise and helped  me stay motivated! Anyways, I hope y'all have a wonderful day--thanks for reading!

Wantr Review

So, I got an email a few weeks ago to try out a new website called Wantr. It's basically a giant wishlist for almost any store you can think of. It's most useful for sale items though. You can choose to follow the stores you like and when you log in you can see new items from those stores and add them to your wish list--or you can want the item. I think it's a great idea for a website! And a way to keep all your wishlists in one place! It's not something I check every day, it's more like once a week. But, I have fun finding items I like. Oh, and if there's a store you like that isn't there, you can add one. I added the Shabby Apple feed 'cause there wasn't one yet.

The downside is that it doesn't show the price of the item on Wantr. From what I hear, they're planning to add that to the website in the near future. There is however a direct link to the item from the Wantr website. You can choose to follow your friends on Wantr and other people can follow you and see what's on your wishlist! It's not a feature that I use that much though--I think other people will like it, but it's just not something I'm that interested in. Other than that, it's been a cool website to try out and I think it's a great idea! Try it out for yourself! Let me know if you like it :) Oh, and it's free!

This is what I see when I log in

This is the Shabby Apple sale feed

My mouse isn't showing up, but I was hovering over the dress I wanted to add to my wantlist. I then just had to click on the + Want button to add it.

This is my wantlist. And you can see the dress I just added in the lower left corner.

Here are some of the feeds you can follow.

Well, I hope y'all give Wantr a try! Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading!

Wear it Two Ways

Shirt - American Eagle Outfitters (Thrifted) // Skirt - Talbots (Thrifted) // Shoes - Restricted (Similar) // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings - Gift from my sister // Nail Polish - Revlon Blue Slate // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic

As much as I like the first version of this outfit better, the second one is much more comfortable. I spent the whole time this morning tucking my skirt back under the belt. I am, however, so happy to finally have a chambrayish shirt. I say chambrayish just because it's not quite denim and still a little bit dress shirt material. But, it's basically just want I wanted and it was from a thrift store....so I love it. I wore it the first way to church this morning, and the second way I will wear tomorrow.

I had so much camera trouble today! Since I went home for the weekend, I got to use my mom's camera...or so I thought. I kept feeding it new batteries and it would go through them in a couple minutes and then it just stopped working altogether. And I couldn't even get the pictures I took off the camera....yeah I wasn't happy. I had to start all over! And with my cell phone camera again :( Oh well. I wanted to take pics in the woods again too, but it was raining. Ya know, at least it wasn't snowing. So glad it wasn't snowing! I'm just glad that I have so much fun doing this blog, even if the pictures are crappy sometime :p

So...I got a wonderful surprise today. My aunt won a basket in a raffle and gave it to me! And....it was filled with cleaning supplies. Woo! I LOVE cleaning supplies. The basket smelled so so so good. I haven't even opened it yet, but I see a ton of awesome stuff in there :)
Bible reading and exercise done. Thanks for reading and I hope y'all have a wonderful day :)

Clothes I Just Can't Get Rid Of

Shirt - Faded Glory // Scarf - Thrifted // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Walmart // Cardigan- Thrifted // Turquoise Ring - Thrifted // Earrings - Gift from my sister // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic // Nail Polish - Revlon Vintage Rose

So as you know I've been trying to clean my closet...but it's not going so well. This shirt and scarf were both in the pitch pile and then I thought wait! I can think of so many ways to wear those. And here they are. Saved from the pitch pile. And now I love them. I guess this is a good thing, 'cause now I have more wearable clothes than I thought. It was almost a dumb idea to completely empty my closet 'cause it wasn't unorganized...I just thought I had a lot more to get rid of. But I'm not putting anything back in my closet unless I really love it! I should be cleaning right now...but I've been working on finals stuff. Now I'm just done for today. Eventually I need to get everything cleaned off the floor, but I guess not yet.

On another note, I'm finally wearing my...well they're not Toms...I call them Sams 'cause they're from Walmart. I guess I'll just call them canvas shoes. I wanted Toms for so long, and I was so excited to see a cheaper version at Walmart. They're soooo comfortable, I don't know why I haven't worn them before. Oh wait....it was snowing and freezing cold until recently! I guess I could wear them in the winter, but I don't really want to when I have fuzzy boots!

Bible reading and exercise...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great day!

April Wishlist

1. Room and Bordeaux Bag
2. Curved Arrow Bracelet (Forever21)
3. The Designer is Inn
4. Catalina Shirred Halter Swimsuit (Walmart)
5. See You Later, Navigator Scarf
6. Fantastical Voyage Dress
7. Mountain Dwelling Dress
8. Woodland That I Love Dress
9. Space to Breath Top
10. Local Bands Skirt
Everything else from Modcloth

So my OCD self wanted all the numbers to be perfectly straight and aligned...but since I wasn't working in Illustrator (it's just not a habit yet...the program's new to me) I just let the numbers go all over the place instead. Now I see that most of my stuff is from Modcloth...When I first started coming up with my wishlist I had a lot of variety, but when I had to narrow it down to only my favorite items they almost all ended up being from Modcloth!

So the Mountain Dwelling Dress just showed up on Modcloth yesterday I think, but I am so so in love with it right now! I love all the stuff on the wishlist, but if I actually ended up buying something, it would probably be that dress! Wow, now I really love that balloon dress too.... Anyways, I had fun making this wishlist :)

Bible reading and exercise done for the day. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great day!

In Love with Plaid

Shirt - H&M (Thrifted) // Tank Top - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Boots - Charlotte Russe // Green Ring and Arrowhead Necklace - Skyline Caverns Gift Shop // Turquoise Ring - Thrifted // Balm Stain - Revlon Honey // Nail Polish - Revlon Vintage Rose
Photos by R. Parker

I love plaid anyway, but aren't the elbow patches on this adorable? This outfit is more wintery than I would like, but since it was hailing yesterday I was in the mood for comfy winter clothes. Well, really I just wanted to be warm. It was alright yesterday, but near the end of the day it really cooled off. Actually, it just got really cold. And then started hailing. And then got even colder. Basically winter weather. NOOO IT'S ALMOST MAY!!! DANG IT, NO MORE COLD! Phew, I just checked the weather and it looks like it's going to be warmer next week.

So, my entire wardrobe is on the floor of my room right now. It's been driving me crazy, 'cause I really want to get it all re-organized (it was organized before, but I had stuff that I needed to get rid of). But, now that I'm going through my stuff I suddenly want to keep it all and I'm finding ways to wear everything I want to get rid of. And sometimes I like stuff but I'm not sure I'll wear it... Anyways, I need y'all here to help me go through my closet!!

Oh, and if you just started reading my blog. I've recently been using it to help keep me accountable for reading the Bible and exercising. So today I did read the Bible, but I forgot about exercising :( Oops. At least I've been good every other day with exercising so far.

Well hope y'all have a great day! Thanks for reading :)

I Wear Your Grandma's Clothes

Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Skirt - Sorbia (Thrifted) // Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Rocket Dog (Modcloth-but they're out of stock) // Tights - Charlotte Russe // Earrings - Thrifted // Ring - Gift from my dad

I know the song says grandad, not grandma. But, it's my grandma's shirt. And belt. That woman really knew how to dress. When she passed away my mom and I kept a few of her clothes. My grandma was so creative--she could sew, paint, and DIY anything! I love that I can put on a shirt or a belt and think my grandma wore this. Anyways, sorry for starting out on such a somber note, it's just that these clothes remind me of my grandma. Funny thing is though, this outfit definitely looks like grandma clothes, but she had a much more modern style while I prefer vintage clothing. It's just the different ways we style the same things!

So I think my pictures have been turning out better, but not today. My cell phone camera takes pretty good pictures when there's good lighting. Well, it was really crappy weather all day (It was hailing at one point!!!) and dark by the time I got home...so not so great pictures. Oh well, as soon as I get a summer job I hope to invest in a better quality camera. Exercise and Bible reading...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

Belle

Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Vest - American Eagle Outfitters (Thrifted) // Skirt - Gap (Thrifted) // Shoes - Maurices // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings - Forever21 // Necklace - Gift // Balm Stain - Revlon Charm // Nail Polish - Revlon Vintage Rose

This is another Beauty and the Beast inspired outfit. Well it wasn't really inspired by Beauty and the Beast, but it's another outfit that makes me think of Belle. I really like this outfit and it's definitely more my style than my outfits last month. I think this would look great with a pair of brown oxfords, but it looks fine with my moccasins. I was going to wear the oxfords, but I felt really sick this morning and my moccasins are just the most comfortable shoes I own :) It's funny 'cause I was out shopping with my mom on black Friday last year and these moccasins were an impulse buy. But, it was definitely the best impulse buy I've ever made! I wear these shoes all the time!

So...I only have a week and a half of school left! Well and then finals week, but after that I'm free! It was a really rough school year, but I think I'm gonna make it! I can't wait for summer. I know I'll have to work, but I like that better than school. I'm really looking forward to graduating, 'cause I'm really tired of being in school. Don't get me wrong, I like graphic design. But, I wish I didn't have three more years of it before I could work for real :(

Bible reading...check. Exercise ....check well sort of. I felt sick all day so I did a really quick exercise today. I knew that if I skipped altogether my motivation to exercise ever again would be completely gone. That's what always happens. Every time I think I'll start exercising something happens. Usually I get sick and then decide to start exercising as soon as I feel well...and then, well you know, I just never do it. On another note, it's hilarious because whenever I exercise my cat decides she has to be right there. Today she sat on my back while I did push-ups, on my stomach while I did crunches, and on my shoulders when I did squats. No joke! It was hilarious!

Well, thanks for reading and I hope y'all have a great day!

It's A Jungle Out There

Shirt - LOFT (thrifted) // Jacket - Delia*s // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Maurices // Earrings - Handmade // Rings - Thrifted // Scarf - Thrifted

The title has nothing to do with the fact that the theme song to Monk was playing... Ok ok so my scarf reminded me of a jungle or a safari or something and right then the theme song to Monk came on. And Wha-BAM! I have a post title. That's how blogging works, y'all. Just kidding. I actually don't even like the title 'cause it's not that original. If for some reason I do actually like the post title, I can almost guarantee you that it took me all day to come up with it.

So, on that note, I'd like to tell you how one of my blog posts is created. First I start planning my outfit the night before. Sometimes I will lay out my outfit on a chair so it's right there when I wake up. Once I've made up my mind I will completely change the outfit around 10 PM. Then I'll either wake up or still be awake at 2AM and change the outfit yet again. Once my alarm goes off I will stupidly decide that I can afford to sleep another 30 minutes. When I finally drag myself out of bed I'll realize that I'm running really late. So, I'll change the outfit again, rush to put on my makeup and do my hair, and then change my mind about the outfit once again.

Once I'm at school, obviously I can't change my mind about the clothes. Thank goodness or I might never be dressed (although I'll have many dang it, I should have worn that instead moments)! I then spend my time in between classes (...or during class...) trying to come up with post titles and stuff to write about. Finally when I get home and begin to write, I completely change my mind again and just write about what's on my mind at the moment. And (I repeat my earlier statement)...Wha-BAM blog post complete. Then the cycle starts all over again. Ok, so some of that may not be entirely true...but it might surprise you what parts are true! Ironically, at one point, I actually had the entire week's outfits planned out and hanging on a clothes rack...that didn't last long. Anyways, if you blog, how do you write your posts/plan outfits?

Excersice ...check. Bible Reading ...check. (and yesterday too...I just forgot to post it).

Well, hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading!
