And The Good News Is...

Shirt - Faded Glory // Cardigan -  New York and Company (Thrifted) // Skirt - H&M (Thrifted) // Socks - George // Shoes - Hotcakes

So, I actually do have really great news! These are (um, hopefully) the last crappy pictures you will ever have to see on my blog! (come to think of it, I think there might be one or two more sets of pictures from the summer...so I shall post those asap) Anyways.... I just got a real camera. That's right, I finally bought a DSLR and I am sooo excited! I've been on a few adventures over the past week, so I have plenty of pictures to post!

I ended up with the Pentax K-30 and the best part is it's weather sealed! I was originally just going to go with Canon because, well, just because. No particular reason. Well, I guess it's because a lot of the bloggers I follow use Canon. But yeah, after doing some research, I decided to go with Pentax. And I'm so glad I did 'cause I found out later that almost all of the older lenses are compatible! And they're so much cheaper!

The weirdest thing is I really hadn't touched a camera before I started blogging. And now, in just about 8 months, I've gone from cell phone camera to point-and-shoot, to a totally awesome DSLR! I know that it's the photographer and not (necessarily) the camera that makes the photo great, but having a great camera really helps!

Just to show you how amazing the k-30 is, check out this video:

And...we'll see if this actually posts, because there's a tornado watch here and the internet's a little spotty.

The Girl Who Waited...

The Hungry Earth Outfit 1: Shirt - St. John's Bay // Shorts - Walmart // Tights - JCPenney // Boots - Unknown // Jacket - Delia's
The Vampires of Venice Outfit 2: Shirt - Mossimo // Belt - Nine & Co. // Skirt - Gander Mountain // Tights - Mossimo // Boots - Hotcakes // Jacket - Delia's // Scarf - Walmart
The Rebel Flesh Outfit 3: Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - Old Navy // Boots - l.e.i. // Jacket - Forever21

The girl who waited...an entire week to post. Well, I guess not an entire week, but it's been awhile. After I posted Paul's Halloween costume on my blog I was really looking forward to posting mine! Now, technically I only wore the first outfit this year, but I wanted pictures of the other two that I wore last year...and now I have all of my Amy Pond outfits together! I only went to one Halloween party this year :( because I was so sick the weekend before Halloween. Oh, and this is what I wore to school on Halloween, and I have one more picture to post of my other costume.

So, I don't know about you, but I just love Doctor Who! And Amy's outfit's are so fun! Seriously, she's why I own a bomber jacket. Yeah, Amy is probably my favorite companion. I could go on for awhile about how much I love Doctor Who...but I just realized I have one more assignment to do before tomorrow morning! Oops!

But it's Still Warm?

Shirt - Body Central // Skirt - Talbots (Thrifted) // Shoes - Faded Glory

Well hey, I guess I had a few pictures left over from the summer. Figured I'd post them before it got too cold. ...although, I guess it's been pretty warm lately. Anyways, good news! I passed my foundation review on Monday! I'm so happy that's over with! Just so you know, Foundation Review is where a panel of the school's instructors look over specific work from a few different classes and decide whether or not you can continue in your major. So yeah...kind of important. I got some good constructive criticism too, so it was definitely a valuable experience. But I'm definitely glad I don't have to worry about it anymore!

I Need a New Memory Card

Shirt - Faded Glory // Shorts - Faded Glory // Belt - Cotton On // Scarf - Thrifted // Moccasins - Maurices // Tights - Walmart

A new memory card...if only it were that easily. Sometimes I feel like my brain's memory is completely full 'cause I can remember random things like song lyrics and quotes from...well, everything. But when it comes to basically anything else (especially new things!) I'm essentially useless. I could sing the you entire theme song for The Muppet Show right now (and a lot of other shows, sadly)...but I could not tell you what day of the week it is or all the other stuff that I can't remember right now! For the record, I'm pretty sure it's Friday. But then again I was convinced it was Friday back on what I think was actually Wednesday. No, it was really funny. One of my instructors said we had an assignment due Friday and I was like today? It can't be due today! the instructor then reminded me that it was only Wednesday... yeah, that took a few minutes to sink in.

Part of my bad memory might be due to excessive daydreaming. Hey, I get lost in my mind palace sometimes. And if you get that reference (Sherlock) you, my friend, are awesome. Then, if Sherlock has a mind palace, I must have a mind bungalow.*

So basically...my mind needs a new memory card. :p It's not like I'm not trying either! I'm working so hard to remember things. Right now I've been using the notepad on my cellphone to write myself little notes throughout the day. Wow, that is really helping! You know how I've said that sometimes I have a good idea for a blog post in the middle of the day, but by the time I'm ready to write that idea is gone? Well, this idea I wrote down in the morning and now I actually remembered to write it! So ironically, I remembered to write a post about my bad memory. Ha.

Btw watch this.

It's hilarious. Gosh, I love Roberto--probably one of my favorite Futurama characters.

*Yes, mom. You get full credit for mind bungalow....

Too Tired to Think of a Title

Shirt - Liz Clairborne // Skirt - Thrifted // Belt - Cato's // Shoes - Faded Glory

So, I've actually been taking outfit photos the past week, but I really just haven't felt like taking the time to write anything. Well, actually this darn typography project is just using all my creative juices :/ (and I don't even think it turned out that well) Seriously, I think I've working on that poster about 12 hours at least in just the past few days. Not including the past several weeks I've been working on it. And it's not like that's my only class...gosh I have other homework too!

Speaking of other homework the last pic is of my first photography project. Honestly, I think it turned out really well considering that I really haven't used a camera before starting this blog. And this isn't digital either. This is darkroom stuff. I developed all that myself! Not really my favorite thing to do. But, the end result is ok I guess. I am excited about eventually getting a DSLR though. Using this camera has been fun to use 'cause even though it's all manual, the quality is so much better than my awesome point-and-shoot camera :p

Well...I probably should have gone to bed awhile ago...but I was studying for a midterm. Gosh, I've got so many projects due and tests this week it's crazy! And I'm still really sleep deprived from last weekend. I went to a conference with the Navs...but I might talk more about that later.

Hope y'all have a great day!

So, Caffeine...We Finally Meet

Dress - Mossimo....other stuff? I have no idea. This dress shrunk like 3 sizes in the dryer (yes, I followed the instructions....and it still shrunk). So I just decided to give the dress to Cat instead. Doesn't she look adorable? Except for those last few faces. What can I say! She likes mocking me!

Tank Top - Faded Glory // Skirt - H&M (Thrifted) // Shoes - Hotcakes
Pictures by Cat

I'm back! Well, sort of. People, it's been a rough week again. I've barely checked other people's blogs and I've barely written anything on my own. In fact, I think this is my first official September post. It's not that I don't have time to blog...it's that I still don't feel better after getting really sick on the beach vacation last month. Anyways, keep me in your prayers 'cause long days at school are tough when I don't feel 100%

Anyways, I honestly don't think there is a more unflattering way to wear this skirt. But hey, I needed something quick to throw on last minute and...this is what happened! So yeah, a few pictures in the woods again. I went to my parent's house for the weekend so that's why. And, when I drove back home, I totally forgot to bring the camera with me! So I can't get outfit pictures this week :( I do, however, have a few more posts saved up from the summer. So I may use one or two of those I guess!

I suppose you're wondering about the post title. I believe I've shared with you the fact that caffeine has little to no effect on me. Which is awesome when you have insomnia and are usually tired all the time. One day I drank about two liters of mountain dew voltage, several cokes, and some coffee...and then I fell right asleep. 5 hour energy? Nah. Red Bull? Nope. Expresso? Nothing. Seriously though, it's not because I just got used to it, caffeine has never had any effect on me. Until yesterday. During web design my friends and I were so tired that when we got a break we went to go get coffee or something, anything, to wake us up. And one of my friends told me to try NOS. Um, well...it definitely worked! People, caffeine is amazing! I went from just-about-to-pass-out to omg-lets-go-run-a-marathon-and-do-tons-of-stuff. It was fantastic! I was typing at lighting speed! My handwriting was even worse than normal 'cause I was thinking so much faster than I could write! I could hear colors! I also couldn't sleep that night. But hey, it was great to actually be awake for once.

So tell me...what's you're caffeinated beverage of choice?

Does Anyone Else Hate Thinking of Titles?

Shirt - Faded Glory // Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Shoes - Hotcakes // Necklace - Forever21 // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic // Scarf - Thrifted? Maybe, I guess. I don't really know. I just found it in the dress up stuff at my parent's house.

See the scarf? Yeah, we're gonna pretend that was there in the picture of my outfit for the first day of school (first outfit with the pinkish floral dress). I knew something was missing in the pictures!! Anyways, like this skirt? Just thrifted it yesterday! My sister needed some shirts to wear with black jeans and I happened to find this skirt for me!

So, I'm starting to feel a bit better from being sick all last week. Being so sick made the first week of school so fun! Seriously, in one class we weren't even allowed to take water in with us! I was just like Ok, but when I cough during your entire class just remember who said no water. That said, coughing is almost gone!! Yeah! I was going to go home for the entire weekend, but I really need to just rest and do nothing for a bit so I can (hopefully) get completely well. I was supposed to do that today after class, but I got home today and just had to clean my house. But, I already feel better now that I my stuff is almost moved in and put away!

Btw, love the pictures? Yeah, this is basically what I was doing when I started my blog. Except I'm using a real camera instead of a cell phone camera...and I'm using a real tripod instead of masking tape. My photographer transferred to Kent :( I also don't have the forest to photograph in...and I don't have a backyard either. So, we'll see what happens with pictures. I think there are some parks nearby, but I still just don't like taking pictures in front of people. I also don't even have a sibling to help now :/ Stay with me while I get stuff all figured out! So please excuse my stellar photography and my I have no idea what I'm doing poses. Anyways, hope y'all have a great weekend!!!

I Think a Post Title's Supposed to Be Here

Shirt - Body Central // Short - Faded Glory // Shoes - Steve Madden (Thrifted) // Earrings - Gift

No really, I actually published this post without a title at first. Ha, that's how observant I am. I also just have never really cared for post titles anyways...

So, obviously, I shouldn't have put off writing posts for while I'm at camp 'til the last minute possible. There's not too much writing in them, but I assure you they're awesome (If you can't tell that was extremely sarcastic). I'm so excited about going to Camp Friedlander tomorrow, but I'm not looking forward to going to camp very sleep deprived already. Speaking of which...I should get some sleep now!

If you don't see anything from me the next week...well, my scheduled posts didn't post. Also, I won't be checking any other people's blogs until I'm back. Anyways...hope your week is great. (...hope mine is great too! We'll see!)

Beware the Angry Donuts

Dress - Pink Owl (via Modcloth) // Shirt - Faded Glory // Belt - Cotton On // Shoes - Maurices

Honestly....I hate the way these pictures turned out. But, I love this dress (it's my first one from Modcloth!) so I wanted to post these anyways. Actually, I do like the last picture...but I'm not even in it :p Gosh I already miss Rachel taking my pictures!

Anyways, don't you just love the awesome things kids say? My siblings all have great imaginations and it's so funny to listen to them. They like to play princes and princesses, little house on the prairie, questing for dragons, and tons of fun stuff! Anyways, we were on a long car ride and I stopped talking with my mom long enough to hear my 8-year-old sister, N, say to another sibling, "Can you go faster than an angry donut?"

Now, I have no idea how the conversation got there. How is this donut propelling itself? And why is it angry? Ah, the things little kids say. I thought it sounded like something that might be in Adventure Time, but they don't even watch that show! Anyways, I thought it was funny!

Oh, and one last thing. Do you remember the FBI costume pictures from the 4th of July post? Well, when my siblings were playing FBI I overheard Laura asking A (one of my Ukrainian siblings who doesn't speak much English yet) if he had an alibi. Since A doesn't know what an alibi is he starts looking through his pockets for one! Do you have any funny stories from your siblings, kids, cousins?

I'm also linking up to Rachel the Hat's and and Lena B, Actually's Passion for Fashion Friday Link Up!

Back to Pymatuning

Dress - Thrifted (Ulterior Motive) // Cardigan - Thrifted (New York & Company) // Belt - Corey P. (via JCPenney ...came with a dress) // Shoes - Faded Glory

I don't know what happened, but for some reason there were about 20 pictures missing when I uploaded everything. Aaaand, they happened to be the pictures that I had Catherine take of my outfit while I was standing on the dock. It's really frustrating 'cause they were on the camera on the way home, but when I went to upload them....they were gone. So yeah, not happy. Oh well, still got a couple good pictures I guess.

Anyways, only Laura, M, and dad were running in the 5k today and, since they were there, A and D ran in the 1/2 mile kids fun run. But, for some strange reason we all got up between 5 & 6 to go to a race an hour away...yes, that early in the morning. Now, I'm all for supporting family members in their athletic endeavors, but I'm pretty sure there's an clause in there somewhere regarding early mornings. Technically, I'd prefer to attend sporting events after noon (or perhaps not at all...) but the fact that we drove several hours, sat through two races, and stayed for award ceremony all before noon disturbs me.

They actually did really well in the race though. Laura and A both placed second in their age categories and D placed 3rd in his. It was hilarious 'cause we all stood by the finish line waiting for our people and my mom was just there cheering everyone on. I, on the other hand, wasn't. Cheering people on, that is. If you remember my previous post on running you'll remember that I hate running and I spent the entire time venting my frustration by yelling at Laura (jokingly, not angrily ...sarcasm clause). So, as a joke, to balance my mom's  ridiculously enthusiastic encouragement to people we didn't even know, I would say...well, not very encouraging things. Ya know, only so she could hear. But then when our family members came to the finish line I had to yell....not encouraging things at them. Don't worry, Laura thought it was funny. Just things like, "You look goofy when you run!" "You'll never make it" and "Turn back now!" And then I thought of ..."The end is near!" So now I actually want to go to another race with them just so I can bring a sign saying "The End is Near." That way I can be encouraging and still retain my slightly disturbing sense of humor. It's a win-win. Oh, I did cheer on one runner though. The guy dressed as Wolverine. Yes, a guy dressed up as Wolverine for the race--I couldn't help but cheer him on!

And before I forget, the pictures of Catherine in goofy poses are her mocking me. In exchange for her taking the pictures  that interestingly disappeared, I took pictures of her mocking me. Actually I'd totally take the pictures anyway, 'cause she's thinks she's funny.

That's it! I leave you with the most creative store name ever--The Store. Yes, just The Store. I had to take a picture of this incredible example of creativity.
