It's Cold Out

Dress - Skies are Blue (Ruche) // Cardigan - Cotton On (Thrifted) // Shoes - City Classified (Ruche) // Tights- George

It's been so long since I've had nice photos! Thanks to Laura, my sister for taking these. I wish I could do this more, but it's just not practical. This has to be one of my favorite dresses and it's on sale right now!

Clingy

Dress - Doe and Rae (Modcloth) // Tights - George // Shoes - City Classified (Ruche) // Necklace - Modcloth // Cardigan - JCPenney

I hated how I wore this dress last week, so I decided to wear it again, haha. Weirdly, I've never had problems with static cling with this dress, but halfway through the day I suddenly felt it clinging to me for dear life. Oh well, I have static cling spray.

Zoo Animals

Shirt - Target (Thrifted) // Sweater - H & M // Tights - George // Belt - Body Central // Shoes - Zulily (I don't remember the brand and I don't feel like getting up to check...Update: I did get up and check. They are Nature Breeze)

I don't really know what I think about this outfit. It probably has something to do with the weird mood I was in when I put it together. The downside is that it is NOT comfortable. On a completely random note, I really want to go to the zoo. Mostly because I want to wear this shirt there.

The Perfect Belt

Shirt - Urban Outfitters (Thrifted) // Skirt - Maurices // Tights - George // Boots - Delia's // Cardigan - Cotton On (Thrifted) // Belt - Body Central

First Delia's and now Body Central is closing? What is happening! Where am I going to buy cheap belts now?

Snow Shoes

Sweater - JCPenney // Skirt - Lovely Day (Modcloth)  // Shirt - h.i.p. (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Shoes - DSW

I made a poor choice in footwear today. These shoes were not made for more than a few inches of snow, but I wore them anyways. And I realized I made a mistake because they filled with snow the moment I stepped outside my house

Notice Anything Different?

Dress - Hem & Thread (Modcloth) // Cardigan - JCPenney // Belt - Body Central // Tights - George // Boots - City Classified (Ruche)

That's right, I finally cut my hair! I have been wanting to do this for two years and I finally went through with it! What do y'all think?

All By Myself

Skirt - Lovely Day (Modcloth) // Shirt - Thrifted // Shoes - DSW // Tights - George

To further my annoyance with walking across campus in the freezing cold, the friend I was walking  with dropped the class. Now I have to walk in the cold all by myself! I think I feel a song coming on "All by myseeeeeelf . . ." (I actually had to put the song on and listen to it after I wrote that!)

The Swing of Things

Shirt - Thrifted // Skirt - Charlotte Russe // Tights - George // Boots - Madden Girl // Belt - Nine & Co.

So, the first day of classes is over! I have a weird schedule, so it'll be interesting to see how things turn out this semester. I know I'm wearing all neutrals, but black, navy, and brown all together? Yeah, I'm a rule breaker. Anyways, I set up my tripod and have a sort of decent spot to take pictures now. Even if the pictures aren't fantastic, I just like having a record of what I've worn. It's so fun to go back and see everything!  Well, after the craziness of yesterday (see post) I am ready for a better nights sleep!

A Most Crazy Day

Dress and Shirt - JCPenney // Tights - George // Shoes -Payless

Well, hey there! I haven't posted since last year, mostly because of travelling and my computer was broken. And, well, still is kind of broken. Anywho, I just got done with the most ridiculous day and I'm getting ready for first day of classes tomorrow! I'll make this short, but I can't remember a more ridiculous day. The (newly fixed?) muffler fell off my car (thankfully after I got off the freeway), my furnace broke, the pipes in my house froze, the power went out in Walmart when I went to get stuff to unfreeze the pipes... daaaang, I am ready for this day to be over! But, it's all good mostly because I have the best dad ever and he drove all the way out to my house to fix everything! Thanks, dad!!

One Year and One Week . . . ish

Dress - Tocce (Thrifted)// Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Belt - Nine & Co. // Shoes - GoJane

So I've been officially blogging for an entire year now! Technically March 5 was the actual date...that's why it's one year and one week. With midterm projects and stuff, I kind of had to put this off a bit. I had wanted to wait so I could put together a cool post with my thoughts on blogging after an entire year and some of my favorite photos. But, that did not happen. My life will hopefully be a little less crazy next week (hopefully) but yeah, I figured that it might be better to just get something posted now and wait 'til I actually have time to do a good job.

One of the huge projects I've been working on is my portfolio website! Now, it's far from being done. But...you can see what I've done so far here.

I'm definitely not avoiding homework

Dress - Modcloth // Tights - George // Socks - Modcloth // Shoes - American Eagle // Cardigan - Forever21 (Thrifted)

Ok, so I lied about posting once or twice a week. I'm trying! So it's been almost two weeks since my last post. But. It has been less than two weeks. Meaning I'm already doing better than the past few months. Part of the reason I've been more busy is because I finally got a job! I'm teaching a few after school art classes! Speaking of which . . . I'll probably have to leave soonish. (As in this was a few hours ago. I'm back now)

It'll be really sad if I write this post and then forget to post it when I get back. (No, I actually remembered) I'm waiting mostly 'cause I just can't think of a title. (Still true) Would it be terrible if I just started using titles like "Post #1" Eh, it should be more creative than that. But that's what I want to do. I'm so glad yahoo mail doesn't freak out when you don't put a subject line in emails anymore. So now . . . I don't use subject lines. Seriously, sometimes I'd spend more time on the subject line than the actual email!

Well, that's it for now. I should be . . . well, doing more important things (like homework. as you can see from my very not creative title.)

New Schedule!

Dress - Forever21 // Cardigan - JCPenney // Shirt - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Boots - Delia's

When I started blogging I really didn't have much going on and I really needed to do something that at least felt productive in my spare time. I really had fun with it in the spring and especially in the summer (probably because it was warm!). And then I started posting less and less during the last semester. I knew I didn't want to stop blogging altogether, but I also didn't want a schedule. Not using a schedule really worked before and I was posting several times a week. But, now I'm considerably busier--I also finally have a job--and I still want to keep blogging. And, as you can see, I've done a great job with that (sarcasm).

Well, as I said before, I don't really want a schedule. And I don't want to completely stop posting. I also don't want to post every day. So, here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to post 1-2 times a week now (sort of a schedule). Doesn't really sound like much, but it's a huge improvement from posting 1-2 times a month. Nice, Rebekah, nice.

At this point I've been blogging on and off for almost a year and I've decided that I like it--so no quitting yet! And, I've got . . . well, a lot of car posts that I'll probably space out over the next couple of weeks. I also see that I still have almost all my followers still--even after not really blogging frequently for so long. Thanks for sticking around!

Christmas Vacation

Dress - H&M (Thrifted) // Belt - Thrifted // Tights - George // Boots - Go Jane // Socks - Target

Well, it's been a busy past few weeks! Busy, but fun. I'm actually in Florida right now visiting my Papaw :) But, like I said it's been busy. It's not like we've been going lots of places...it's just that it's a lot of work being on vacation when you're not a kid! I hope your Christmas was great--I know mine was!

So one of the funnest things I've done since getting to Florida was going out to dinner and to see a movie with my dad! I finally got to see Thor: The Dark World, which I must say I liked a lot better than the first one! Anyways, after the movie we were supposed to go to dinner...but that didn't really work out at first. Since the movie was late, we had to find a restaurant that was open even later. But, when we got to the one I picked out it was closed already. An hour early. Yeah, great. And we couldn't find any other restaurants so we were about to just settle for fast food when we finally found a restaurant that was open later. And, guess what. It was right next to the theater we had just driven away from :p So we drove all over tarnation just to end up right back at the same place! Oh well, it was still fun! And, by the way, my dad is really awesome 'cause he still makes sure to spend one-on-one time with all of his kids even though he has so many of them!

Oh...and I wore the same dress as in the pictures too! Haha. Even though the material's a bit thin, I do like it better with tights. Anyways...hope the rest of 2013 is great for y'all. Considering my posting schedule the past few weeks I'm guessing I won't get anything up until next year :p

PS I keep forgetting to say that my brother Michael's been taking most of my pictures lately 'cause my new (awesome) camera's too big for the old tripod. Thanks, Michael!

And The Good News Is...

Shirt - Faded Glory // Cardigan -  New York and Company (Thrifted) // Skirt - H&M (Thrifted) // Socks - George // Shoes - Hotcakes

So, I actually do have really great news! These are (um, hopefully) the last crappy pictures you will ever have to see on my blog! (come to think of it, I think there might be one or two more sets of pictures from the summer...so I shall post those asap) Anyways.... I just got a real camera. That's right, I finally bought a DSLR and I am sooo excited! I've been on a few adventures over the past week, so I have plenty of pictures to post!

I ended up with the Pentax K-30 and the best part is it's weather sealed! I was originally just going to go with Canon because, well, just because. No particular reason. Well, I guess it's because a lot of the bloggers I follow use Canon. But yeah, after doing some research, I decided to go with Pentax. And I'm so glad I did 'cause I found out later that almost all of the older lenses are compatible! And they're so much cheaper!

The weirdest thing is I really hadn't touched a camera before I started blogging. And now, in just about 8 months, I've gone from cell phone camera to point-and-shoot, to a totally awesome DSLR! I know that it's the photographer and not (necessarily) the camera that makes the photo great, but having a great camera really helps!

Just to show you how amazing the k-30 is, check out this video:

And...we'll see if this actually posts, because there's a tornado watch here and the internet's a little spotty.

Good News, Everyone

Dress - Monteau // Tights - George // Boots - Yoki // Cardigan - JCPenney // Cami - Walmart

Just imagine the title in Professor Farnsworth's voice.

The good news is...I'm finally feeling a bit more creative again. Which may mean more blog posts. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing! I've spent so much time on homework the past week that I'm starting to look at life like I'm still on the computer. Like I want to hit control-z if I want to undo something...in real life. And a couple of days ago I saw a crack on this one lampshade in my living room...no joke, I actually thought to myself... yeah, so I'll just use the lasso tool and select that undamaged part of the lampshade. then I'll just paste it on top of the damage and problem solved....oh wait, this isn't photoshop. Maybe I just need sleep. And a new lamp shade.

On another note, I'm so sad 'cause I just finished season 9 of Futurama. There is a 10th season, but it's not on Netflix yet! Darn! Does anyone else want All My Circuits to be a real show?

It's a Jungle Out There?

Or maybe a zoo. Or maybe, just maybe, a public restroom that hadn't been cleaned in the past decade. No joke. It was at a state park, and well... it reminded me of several exhibits at the Cleveland Zoo. Except the zoo might have actually smelled better ...and was probably cleaner. Well, wasn't that an interesting note to start my post with? Hey, I just had to share it with someone. You're welcome.

It's sad that it's the last day to spend in California. I wish I didn't have to go back to Ohio :( I mean I guess it's still cold here, but at least it's sunny in California! They could do a show called It's Always Cloudy in Cleveland. Although as we were heading back to the hotel we saw some storm clouds. But, ya know, I can deal with some clouds occasionally.

First we stopped by Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey to buy some jackets! When we woke up in the morning, it was FREEEEZING and we decided to get jackets before we headed down to the state park. My dad just loves Monterey, so he made us all get jackets there. I wish we had been closer to Winchester House, 'cause I would have loved a jacket from there! But it was funny as we were walking around the wharf because we were trying find presents for the other kids that didn't come with us, remember which stores the presents we decided on were in, and then buy the presents...and we were in a hurry. I think we found pretty cool stuff though, even if we took a few minutes longer! I ended up getting a goofy fleece jacket that I'll probably never wear again :/ But I did get a great blanket! It looks kind of like this--only blue. My mom had a red one while I was growing up and it brings back lots of memories. I always wanted one for myself so I'm really happy I found this.

After Fisherman's Wharf, we drove down to Julia Pfeiffer State Park. And yes, that's where the bathroom was. The bathroom. Yes, that one. Anyways, enough of that. Where was I? Oh yes, State Park. My dad's wanted go here every time he's been in California, but he never made it out. Last time it was really late in the evening and I got really sick right before he wanted to make the drive. We didn't end up staying that long, but we finally made it out there and it really was beautiful! I'm not sure how to describe it, but there are pictures below. I'll just leave it at...well, it was beautiful.

We then drove to Cannery Row and stopped at a few places there. There was a great pirate store, a shell store, and...lots of stores. Honestly the shopping in Monterey Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row was so much better than San Francisco. We were hungry though, so we didn't shop that long. We ended up eating at Louie Linguini's...and I kept thinking of Ratatouille the entire time. Especially the part when the head chef is just yelling "Linguiiiiini!" ...I couldn't find a clip on YouTube though. Sorry :( I was really in the mood for crab, but I decided to go really adventurous and order some clams and mussels and some other stuff all served on noodles. I now know that outside of clam chowder I really don't like clams and especially mussels. But, I did try both! I don't know why, but the mussels just looked...weird. There was a bunch of other meat with the noodles so other than that my dinner was great. Then we stopped by the Nestle Toll House place and got some ice cream. It was great though 'cause you could make your own ice cream sandwiches and pick your own combination of cookies and ice cream. It was awesome!! I got fudge tracks ice cream with a triple chocolate and an English toffee cookie. I'll have to run for a week to burn those calories! Oh wait...I don't run. Anyways, we didn't want to get to the hotel too late, so we left around 8:30 PM.
Monterey's Fisherman's Wharf

Yes.

Two years ago...same place. same shirt.

At the state park

Pirate Store at Cannery Row in Monterey

Two years ago--same place.

Apparently the person on the packaging doesn't know how to use this product...

He has no eyes!

Shirt - Old Navy // Skirt - Thrifted // Jacket - Forever21 // Cardigan - New York and Company (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Shoes - Faded Glory

Well it was a busy, but fun, last day. You can check out my first trip here. Here's the link to my sister's blog. And here's the link (finally!) to the conference my dad spoke at. And his bio. Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!

PS I didn't really feel like taking pictures on the trip home. I was just really tired and wanted to sleep. I did, however, watch The Guilt Trip and Oz the Great and Powerful. I thought The Guilt Trip was really dumb, but I really loved Oz! Anyways, I'm home now and I'm really looking forward to getting back to normal outfit posts. Oh, and I basically wore the same thing as I did on the way to California, but with the shirt in today's outfit. And my tights look they they were in a cat fight....
