These Boots Were Made For . . . Trudging Through The Snow

Dress - Sunny Girl (Modcloth) // Cardigan - Cotton On (Thrifted) // Tights - Marc's // Boots - Delia's // Belt - Body Central

It's so sad that it felt really warm today . . . and it was only in the 20s. Also, my hair feels too long, I can't wait to chop it all off again!

Handmade

Dress - American Eagle (Thrifted) // Sweater - Worthington // Tights - Marc's // Boots - Delia's // Necklace - Handmade

I used to make jewelry all the time but I just recently got all my stuff out again. It's been really fun watching Friends or Criminal Minds in the evening and actually being productive! The necklace in this outfit is one of the ones I made last night. What do you think?

Crumpled Up Kleenex

Dress - Doe and Rae // Tights - Marc's // Boots - Delia's // Cardigan - Thrifted // Necklace - Forever21

No, I'm not sick (surprisingly). The flowers on this cardigan just look like crumpled up kleenex to me. So I got rid of it the moment I got home. I'd been saving it because I like the color, but the weird flowers on the front are just ... weird. Well, they really look like crumpled up kleenex stuck to my shirt. It's gross. Since I can't remove them without seriously damaging the cardigan, it's going to be removed from my closet.

On a slightly unrelated note, there's nothing like an unexpected foot (or three) of snow to remind you of how awful winter is. Every January (and, well, yeah, February too) I plan elaborate vacations to very warm places (for when I actually have money one day, you know?) and check out the cost of living in other (warmer) states. And because of all the dang snow, I'm stuck wearing these same boots! I miss wearing my other shoes :( I missed them so much that I took this picture. Actually, it just happened to be the magical 'golden hour' and, wouldn't you know it, my shoes looked pretty fantastic in the light. Obviously I had to take a picture. It's even my Facebook cover photo now, haha.

Surprise Vacation

Dress - Forever21 // Cardigan - Thrifted // Tights - Merona // Shoes - Delia's

School was cancelled for a few days and it was amazing! Akron rarely cancels, so you know it was bad. I got a bunch of projects done that I'd been putting off (plus, I didn't have to go outside in the horrible weather).

The Perfect Belt

Shirt - Urban Outfitters (Thrifted) // Skirt - Maurices // Tights - George // Boots - Delia's // Cardigan - Cotton On (Thrifted) // Belt - Body Central

First Delia's and now Body Central is closing? What is happening! Where am I going to buy cheap belts now?

The Saga Continues

Dress - En Creme (Modcloth) // Cardigan - Clothing Swap // Tights - Merona // Boots - Delia's // Belt - Old Navy

After losing my walking-to-class-in-the-freezing-cold buddy, I ran into yet another friend who walks the same way as me. How convenient. I forgot I got these boots from Delia's, did y'all know they're going out of business? They still have a few things and everything is around 50% - 70% off!

On a completely different note, I'm really tired of my hair like this. I really enjoyed letting it be natural (for the record it's very straight in these pictures), but I want to do something different. What do you guys think about shorter hair with bangs? If you have ideas you can send them to me on Pinterest! There's a link on the left side.

Thanksgiving 2014

Dress and Belt - Modcloth // Tights - Walmart // Cardigan - Thrifted // Boots (not shown) - Delias

So, I completely forgot that Thanksgiving was yesterday and I had another completely unrelated post written. Haha. But at least I have a back up post written now!

Oh, first off, I passed the review that I'd been writing about! Right, back to Thanksgiving. Although I am definitely thankful for passing that review.

So this year Thanksgiving was at my aunt's house and I didn't know what to expect 'cause it's usually at my parents' house. But, I think the day went really well and the food was delicious! We played charades, watched Life with Father, and had some really amazing desserts. My sister made theses amazing buttery/chocolatey cupcakes. (I may get up and go get one...)

I hope your Thanksgiving went well! I'll leave you with this hilarious picture of my brother. I don't know how I got this picture, I was just snapping pictures and this happened. He just looks so serious! Like he just closed a business deal or something.

New Schedule!

Dress - Forever21 // Cardigan - JCPenney // Shirt - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Tights - George // Boots - Delia's

When I started blogging I really didn't have much going on and I really needed to do something that at least felt productive in my spare time. I really had fun with it in the spring and especially in the summer (probably because it was warm!). And then I started posting less and less during the last semester. I knew I didn't want to stop blogging altogether, but I also didn't want a schedule. Not using a schedule really worked before and I was posting several times a week. But, now I'm considerably busier--I also finally have a job--and I still want to keep blogging. And, as you can see, I've done a great job with that (sarcasm).

Well, as I said before, I don't really want a schedule. And I don't want to completely stop posting. I also don't want to post every day. So, here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to post 1-2 times a week now (sort of a schedule). Doesn't really sound like much, but it's a huge improvement from posting 1-2 times a month. Nice, Rebekah, nice.

At this point I've been blogging on and off for almost a year and I've decided that I like it--so no quitting yet! And, I've got . . . well, a lot of car posts that I'll probably space out over the next couple of weeks. I also see that I still have almost all my followers still--even after not really blogging frequently for so long. Thanks for sticking around!

Mauve on Over

Shirt - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Tights - Mossimo // Shoes - Rocket Dog // Jacket - Delia*s

Yeah, I know. Nothing I'm wearing is mauve. The reference? My lipstick! I have not worn lipstick in years (balm stain, yes...lipstick, no) but one day I decided I wanted this color of lipstick. So I bought it. And well, I've worn it every day since! It's L'Oreal Saucy Mauve. And I kind of really love the color! It smells kind of weird though. Like it doesn't smell bad, it just smells like lipstick. And to me, that's never been a pleasant smell. I guess I've gotten used to it, but I don't know... we'll see!

Anyways, I'm really hoping I don't get sick again so I can focus more on blogging! (random subject change, i know) I've basically given up on not trying to get sick. No amount of hand sanitizer has kept me well this semester. Seriously, it's like the germs can infect me from 10 feet away! Yeah...it's been a fun semester. (sarcasm) If one of my classmates is sick I have it the next day! And, well, there's always at least one sick person (besides me) in the classroom...and that's why I've basically given up. Except for the hand sanitizer. I will never give that up. I do not apologize for my love of clean hands. (It also works in a pinch if a certain feline decides to sneeze on my face in the middle of the night...)

Yeah, I don't even know what I originally wanted to write about, but I wanna get back to watching more Psych (Whaaaaaat?) and sleeping. So I'm gonna leave you with that lovely description of my various ailments throughout the semester. (Which, in reality, wasn't even that thorough. I could get several more blog posts out of this...) Anyways, what do y'all do to deal with colds and other nasty fall/winter ailments?

The Girl Who Waited...

The Hungry Earth Outfit 1: Shirt - St. John's Bay // Shorts - Walmart // Tights - JCPenney // Boots - Unknown // Jacket - Delia's
The Vampires of Venice Outfit 2: Shirt - Mossimo // Belt - Nine & Co. // Skirt - Gander Mountain // Tights - Mossimo // Boots - Hotcakes // Jacket - Delia's // Scarf - Walmart
The Rebel Flesh Outfit 3: Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - Old Navy // Boots - l.e.i. // Jacket - Forever21

The girl who waited...an entire week to post. Well, I guess not an entire week, but it's been awhile. After I posted Paul's Halloween costume on my blog I was really looking forward to posting mine! Now, technically I only wore the first outfit this year, but I wanted pictures of the other two that I wore last year...and now I have all of my Amy Pond outfits together! I only went to one Halloween party this year :( because I was so sick the weekend before Halloween. Oh, and this is what I wore to school on Halloween, and I have one more picture to post of my other costume.

So, I don't know about you, but I just love Doctor Who! And Amy's outfit's are so fun! Seriously, she's why I own a bomber jacket. Yeah, Amy is probably my favorite companion. I could go on for awhile about how much I love Doctor Who...but I just realized I have one more assignment to do before tomorrow morning! Oops!

It's A Jungle Out There

Shirt - LOFT (thrifted) // Jacket - Delia*s // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Maurices // Earrings - Handmade // Rings - Thrifted // Scarf - Thrifted

The title has nothing to do with the fact that the theme song to Monk was playing... Ok ok so my scarf reminded me of a jungle or a safari or something and right then the theme song to Monk came on. And Wha-BAM! I have a post title. That's how blogging works, y'all. Just kidding. I actually don't even like the title 'cause it's not that original. If for some reason I do actually like the post title, I can almost guarantee you that it took me all day to come up with it.

So, on that note, I'd like to tell you how one of my blog posts is created. First I start planning my outfit the night before. Sometimes I will lay out my outfit on a chair so it's right there when I wake up. Once I've made up my mind I will completely change the outfit around 10 PM. Then I'll either wake up or still be awake at 2AM and change the outfit yet again. Once my alarm goes off I will stupidly decide that I can afford to sleep another 30 minutes. When I finally drag myself out of bed I'll realize that I'm running really late. So, I'll change the outfit again, rush to put on my makeup and do my hair, and then change my mind about the outfit once again.

Once I'm at school, obviously I can't change my mind about the clothes. Thank goodness or I might never be dressed (although I'll have many dang it, I should have worn that instead moments)! I then spend my time in between classes (...or during class...) trying to come up with post titles and stuff to write about. Finally when I get home and begin to write, I completely change my mind again and just write about what's on my mind at the moment. And (I repeat my earlier statement)...Wha-BAM blog post complete. Then the cycle starts all over again. Ok, so some of that may not be entirely true...but it might surprise you what parts are true! Ironically, at one point, I actually had the entire week's outfits planned out and hanging on a clothes rack...that didn't last long. Anyways, if you blog, how do you write your posts/plan outfits?

Excersice ...check. Bible Reading ...check. (and yesterday too...I just forgot to post it).

Well, hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading!

A Little Black Dress and a Lot of Chocolate Brownies

Dress - Ann Taylor Loft (Thrifted) // Cardigan - JCPenney // Belt - Body Central // Tights - Payless // Boots - Steve Madden // Bracelet - Handmade // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings Thrifted // Coat - Delia's // Purse - Thrifted // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic // Nail Polish - Orly Jealous Much
Photos by R. Parker

Wow it's been a long day...as I'm writing this I'm eating a microwave mug cookie and watching Supernatural (Wooo!!!! I love Supernatural!!!!)! My house is kind of under construction right now...and I don't have a stove. I was living solely on Pizza Rolls until I discovered microwave mug recipies!! So amazing!! I can make eggs, muffins, and french toast (and cake, cookies, and brownies...) just in the microwave it's pretty awesome! Most of the recipes I use I found in this Buzzfeed article. There's a brownie recipe I use too...but I memorized it so I don't know the link. Yes, I memorized it--that should tell you how awesome this mug brownie is. Ok, nevermind I found the link here. I couldn't stand telling you how awesome the brownie was without giving y'all the recipie. In fact I'm kind of craving said brownie now...but darn it, if I didn't have a mug cookie just now. Anyways, the brownie is super amazing if you put a couple of chocolate chips in the center and then stick some caramel right in the center so it melts in the microwave....NOOO now I want a brownie! As you can tell I have the munchies...

Anyways it was pretty warmish today and I was able to walk to and from my car without a coat...until it got dark at least. I wish it was still light enough to take pictures outside...but ya know it's ok. Rachel's an amazing photographer and these pics came out much better than I thought they would--we had lighting issues. It's weird because I've had these shoes for years and yet I've never worn them until now! When I was just starting to look into fashion I bought these boots at a thrift store 'cause I though they looked weird and hey they're Steve Madden. That's a good brand right? So they sat in my closet for like two years and I never wore them! I was this close to pitching them, but now I'm so glad I kept them!!!! Anyways, I love this dress that I thrifted the other day and with a black dress and these shoes I feel like I'm going to a funeral in the 1800s... But hey, I really loved the outfit and I'm so glad to be wearing dresses again!

Oh yeah, today's outfit was inspired by this outfit over at Just Take a Bow!

Hope your day is fantastic! Don't forget to follow and like Finding Inspiration on Facebook!
