2 Years of Blogging + A Very Disney Adventure

Well, hey there! Guess what this week marks? Two entire years of blogging! So, to celebrate, instead of doing a recap post, I'm gonna post something I've been waiting to post since January! While we were in Florida for Christmas, my family went and spent 3 days at Disney!

Day 1: Downtown Disney

It's so fun to walk around Downtown Disney and it's great to get any shopping you want to do done so you can just enjoy the parks when you're there! Not surprisingly I bought a few more mugs. I may have a problem. We had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe--that place is awesome! My dad got an amazingly good deal to stay at a hotel that was really close to Disney, so we went back there and spent some time swimming before going to sleep.

Don't you love the alligator about to bite my brother's head?

Remember when my hair was this long?

Day 2: Magic Kingdom

There's nothing like a day at Magic Kingdom. I LOVE it there. There were even a few new rides this time! I was so disappointed when they got rid of the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride (years ago, obviously) and replaced it with Ariel's Grotto. Which is basically nothing. At least this time around Ariel finally got a cool ride! Unfortunately, the Snow White ride was gone. I mean, I think a lot of kids were scared of it (even more so than the Haunted Mansion) but hey, your childhood memories are lacking if they're void of the terror that was the Snow White ride! Oh, there was also a new circus area which was really cool. But I think I spent most of my time on the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean rides.

Laura DisneyBounding as Peter Pan.

Terrible lighting from the flash. I should have taken a picture before the sun went down. But yeah, I'm DisneyBounding as Merida. A few people actually thought I worked there :p This is actually why I waited to cut my hair. I wanted crazy Merida hair for Disney!

Day 3: Hollywood Studios

I think most of my family hadn't been to Hollywood Studios, but since I'd gone over the summer and loved it, I really wanted them to go! You guys, the Star Wars ride. It's amazing! And magical. It's the best! I can't even count how many times I went on that ride!

Outfit 1: Dress - Modcloth // Shoes - Hotcakes

Outfit 2: Dress - Modcloth // Shoes - Rocket Dog // Belt - Nine and Co. // Shirt - Kohl's // Arrow Necklace - Forever21

Outfit 3: Skirt and Necklace - Modcloth // Shirt - Kohl's

Well, that's that. Have you been to Disney? What have you thought of my past few years of blogging? I love to hear from you all!

Put-in-Bay

Dress - Modcloth // Shoes - Hotcakes

I had this post written awhile ago, I just never posted it. Hey, it's great 'cause school was cancelled today and I don't have to go anywhere!

Anyways, this was so long ago I don't really even remember why we went to Put-in-Bay, but for some reason we did. I mean, it was fun. But I'm pretty sure there was an actual reason for going. Whatever.

It really was fun though. We got stuck in a maritime museum for a long time because of a rain storm. But that was actually a good thing though 'cause it was a great museum and I enjoyed having extra time to look around.

The only downside was the cave tour. Dang, I love cave tours, but this one was terrible! I was looking forward to it all day and it was basically just a short walk down some stairs while listening to an inept teenager making dumb jokes. It made me so sad. I've been on a lot of cave tours, and this one was hands down the absolute worst tour I've ever had the displeasure of taking.

Other than that, the day was really fun! The history of Put-in-Bay was fascinating and I'd really love to go back 'cause it was such a fun experience!

4th

Skirt, Cardigan, and Shirt - Thrifted // Shoes - Hotcakes

Right before we went to the parade Friday morning I looked back at the pictures from the 4th last year--it is amazing how much my family has changed in just a year! Just for fun I took outfit pictures in the same place. (even though I have used that same place many times...) I think the landscape might be only slightly different, but it looks very different with my new camera.

Aside from being a holiday, the 4th is also my mom's birthday. We always joke that the fireworks and parades are just a part of her elaborate party (which is even funnier if you know that my mom dislikes birthday parties for her). Anyways, the parade in the morning was pretty fun--and we reconnected with several old friends! Later in the day we went to the fireworks at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Honestly, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the fireworks this year. We waited almost an hour for, what I thought was, a much shorter show than usual. Still fun though. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend as well!

Blue Gingham - eShakti Review

Dress - c/o eShakti // Shoes - Hotcakes // Hat - Target // Necklace - Walmart

Pictures taken by Laura

Near the end of last month eShakti contacted me asking if I'd be interested in reviewing a product for them and I was more than happy to oblige! If you haven't heard of eShakti before, they offer beautiful custom clothing in sizes 0-36W.

I've spent a lot of time looking at their dresses, but, due to limited funding, I hadn't purchased one. Needless to say, I was very excited to finally have an eShakti dress! I chose this blue gingham one because it really reminded me of Dorothy from Wizard of Oz (which is why I had to pair it with red shoes). Now the color is slightly brighter on the dress than what it appeared on my screen, but I think that's the fault of my computer 'cause I've had this issue before with my darn screen. And it's still a nice color, just brighter than what I was expecting. The dress comes with cap sleeves and hits below the knee, but I customized it to have short sleeves and to hit above the knee. The sleeves were a wee bit too long, but I folded them over once and ironed them to stay and now they're perfect!

The dress is comfortable and very well made. I haven't had the dress for very long, but at this point it looks like it's going to last a long time. Which is good, 'cause I like the dress and I already have plans to wear it a lot this summer. Right out of the box the dress was a little wrinkly, to be expected with any clothing in the mail, and it took awhile to iron the wrinkles out. But, the fabric itself does not wrinkle easily so once it was ironed it was all good!

Oh, and did I mention the dress comes with pockets? I love a dress with pockets! Like I said earlier, I customized the dress a bit and if you didn't want the pockets, you could actually order the dress without them. (Although I can't imagine why someone would want a dress without pockets) You can also adjust the sleeves and length of the dress like I did. Or you can purchase a completely custom size. I just ordered a standard size and it fits perfectly! Really though, the dress does fit perfectly--it's very flattering too! The side zipper makes getting the dress on and off easy. Also, there's some elastic in the back to ensure a good fit.

So yes, I'd definitely recommend both eShakti and this dress to everyone! Don't forget to visit eShakti's website and here's a link directly to this dress. Also be sure to check out eShakti on Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook.

Also, if you order from eShakti before June 17 (of this year) you can use the code ‘findes‘ and you can get 10% off!

Well, I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend and I hope you'll also check out eShakti!

Hello, Sweetie

Dress - Hot Topic // Cardigan - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Belt - Wet Seal // Socks - Walmart // Shoes - Hotcakes

I've posted my Doctor Who costumes before, but I had yet to buy actual everyday wear related to Doctor Who. That, my friends, is no more. I was at Hot Topic a few weeks ago with one of my friends from Akron and I saw this dress. Normally I'm hesitant to buy fandom shirts and such 'cause well . . . I don't really wear t-shirts that much. (side note: I did, however, buy a Supernatural shirt too. I have no idea when I'll wear it but . . . it was half off and . . . it was Supernatural.) But yeah, a dress I will definitely wear! I love that the colors are black and white too 'cause it should be easy to remix. Of course, I feel like the only color I should wear it with is Tardis blue, haha.

Anyways, if you haven't checked out Doctor Who yet . . . do it. Granted the first season is not my favorite, but if you prefer continuity I'd start with the first season (trust me it just gets more and more awesome). I actually found this show 'cause I'd been watching Primeval (another British show) and Doctor Who was supposedly a competitor show. Honestly, I'm not sure which show I like better 'cause they're both pretty awesome! Although, I'm only halfway through season 7 of Doctor Who at this point so no spoilers!

Probably my favorite episodes are the ones with the weeping angels (or basically anything written by Steven Moffat). I can't decide on a favorite Doctor though. What about you guys? Any favorite episodes?

Update: I just found the Just Being Molly and I'm linking up with her #fundaymonday link-up!
