At Least my Work is Done!

Shirt - Forever21 (Thrifted) // Skirt - Gap (Thrifted) // Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Shoes - Restricted Betsy // Socks - Marc's

Well, I don't know about you, but I kind of like the results of my impromptu blog re-design!  But I really need to blog earlier in the day...I worked on my poster designs for several hours and I, again, don't feel like writing. Come to think of it, I actually had a very productive day. Aside from doing 4 poster designs and a website design, I also did a ton of housework and finally purchased a rake! Yeah, I have a huge oak tree in my front yard and...well it's shedding :p Most of the leaves haven't fallen off yet and I still ended up picking up two bags of leaves!! I'm really not looking forward to the rest of the leaves falling off.

Bringing Creative Back!

Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Shirt - a.n.a. // Socks - Marc's // Cardigan - Mossimo // Shoes - St. John's Bay

Yeah, so I didn't actually go to the Brown's game, but I was right across from the stadium and just had to take some pictures of all the people. It was ridiculous how many people there were! We couldn't even park in the Science Center's parking lot 'cause it was a Brown's game day. And there were so many people that they started walking in the street--in front of cars--and wouldn't even stop walking to let us into the place where we could actually park. Seriously, people really were walking in the middle of the street like "the Brown's game is more important than my life."

Anyways, the real reason we went to Cleveland was to go to the Titanic exhibit at the Science Center. Wow, it was amazing! So well done and well designed too! I never get tired of studying the Titanic. There was no photography allowed in the I have no pictures for you. Probably the coolest part was one part of the exhibit that showed which passengers were headed for the Northeast Ohio area.

On another note...if you've visited my blog before, you'll notice it looks completely different! I've been planning a new site design for awhile and well, this isn't it. I'm still planning the other one. But, I was bored and I just decided to do this! Also, I'm finally feeling creative again! Anyways, I'm kinda like this at least I'm happy with it until my other new design is done :p

Jeans Again

Shirt - American Eagle // Jeans -Buffalo Jeans // Scarf - Thrifted // Boots & Hat - Charlotte Russe

As you can tell from the title, I am still not feeling creative. You know when I'm the most creative? In the shower. I should take a notebook in there with me. I have a few poster designs, but I'm really gonna have to spend the weekend coming up with more ideas.

Dress - INC International Concepts (Thrifted)  // Cardigan - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Socks - Marc's // Shoes - St. John's Bay

...Inspiration. I really need some. There are times when I'm super creative and other times when I'm just...really not. I love art school, but I hate when I have an absolutely brilliant idea...after the assignment's due! Lately I've been trying to make myself be creative even when I don't feel like it. That's one reason I'm blogging now. I've had a long day and I'm just tired and done being creative. It's practice.

I think that's one reason my posts have been so (not) awesome lately. By the time I'm done with school and homework I'm just fresh out of creative. I've always loved being artistic and designing things, but I don't want it to become a chore. I want design to be something I love! So yeah, that's what I'm focusing on this semester--being creative when I have to and not just when I want to.

I Love Layers

Dress - Cotton On // Cardigan - J. Crew // Belt - Cotton on // Jacket - Unknown // Socks - Marc's // Shoes - Hotcakes // Necklace - Forever21

I'm a little disappointed summer's over, but I do love fall! Especially because of layering! So I realized that as long as I have decent lighting, this front hall actually does make a great place for pictures. The ones I took today (not these...) actually turned out pretty cool! ...which is totally awesome 'cause it's getting cold outside.

Couch Superhero

Dress - Max Studio // Hat - Charlotte Russe // Jacket - Unknown // Boots - Lower East Side // Necklace - Forever21
Pictures by Laura

So I can't believe I totally forgot to tell you what happened to me on Tuesday! So Tuesdays and Thursdays are like my long days on campus. I have classes from around 9am to 8pm. Although if I get out of photography on time I can go home for about an hour so it's not so bad. No...that's still bad. Anyways, as I was trying to drive home for that hour for lunch my car would not start. Well, it's not that it wouldn't start...and more that the key wouldn't turn. It's been really difficult to turn the key for awhile and it seems that things completely broke that day. And since I was expecting to be able to go home I had no food with me, no homework to do...and no headphones. So I couldn't even just watch Netflix or anything. Oh, and Laura was visiting me and since she didn't have a phone with her I couldn't call her to tell her I wasn't going to be home! (she also said to not do the picture of the apple in my hands 'cause it's too reminiscent of Twilight :p)

Normally I would just have my dad fix it (and he would totally drive an hour just to fix my car...he's awesome like that). dad's currently recovering from leg surgery and can't drive yet. So I'm just stuck at school. Thankfully my dad called around and found a locksmith to drive out and change the tumbler or something. Whatever the guy did my car works now! It was funny though because the locksmith called me so I could direct him to my car in the parking garage. Ha. Me giving directions to someone. Yeah, I don't really give directions that well :p What's worse is I could barely hear the guy over the phone!

I ended up missing half of my web design class. But it's ok, 'cause my car is fixed now and the class is super easy and I caught up really quickly. I'm so thankful that I have such an awesome dad who was able to help even if he couldn't even get off the couch! That's why he's the couch superhero. He's awesome.

No Idea What I'm Doing...

Dress - Tocce (Thrifted) // Shirt - American Eagle Outfitters // Boots - Charlotte Russe // Balm Stain - Revlon Crush

No seriously. I don't. Isn't that camera cool though? And look at the strap! It's so cool! Anyways, it's a Miranda camera that I'm using for my photography class this semester. Honestly though, that class is so difficult 'cause I have literally no idea what I'm doing. I've never really used a camera until I started blogging...and that's just a point and shoot. Film camera? Wow...yeah. A bit confusing.

This is how dorky I am. I cannot even load the film in the camera. The instructor showed me how to load the film and it took her around 5-10 seconds. Me? After about 20 tries and the film was just flying right back out of the camera I was about to give up...when 30 minutes later I finally got the film loaded. People, I read the instruction manual and then looked up a bunch of tutorial videos and I still could not get it! This is going to be a fun semester....

Oh well! Do you have any awesome stories from a difficult class?

PS - I know I have dirt on my knees :p I don't remember why...

Out of the House

Shirt & Cardigan - Thrifted // Hat - Charlotte Russe // Jeans - Levi // Boots - Charlotte Russe // Balm Stain - Revlon Crush

I've felt like this recently
And the fear that by doing so, you're slowly turning into a hermit...
...I've also been watching a lot of Arrested Development.

Anyways, I finally was a wee bit social this weekend. And I'm wearing pants today. This is because I went hiking with one of my friends today. It was actually really fun! I enjoy being outdoors, but I've been kind of indoorsy the past few weeks :p So I'm thinking I might start going to parks close to my house for pictures 'cause I'm so tired of crappy indoor pictures! Today's for example? Booooring! And yet I keep posting them and then complaining about's a vicious cycle.

Fun Stuff

Dress - Converse One Star // Cardigan - Express // Socks - Target // Shoes - Restricted Betsy // Balm Stain - Revlon Charm
So I was finally a bit social today (and no, the pictures wont' resize again) and I spent the afternoon with my aunt, uncle, cousin, and two of my brothers. I may have lived in Akron for a year...but I still haven't been to most of the little diners and places by my house. So we checked out The Falls Deli and then went to Strickland's Frozen Custard. The Frozen Custard place was so cute! The interior was decorated with all these pictures from the 50s...ok so a bit cliché for an ice cream/custard place. But still, cute.
Later my friend Rachel came over to watch a movie. You might remember her. She used to be one of my photographers before she transferred to Kent. Anyways, so much fun! We watched Corpse Bride and then talked for awhile. I'm really not that social :p so I really had a lot of fun! Hope your weekend is great!

Be Prepared

Dress - Monteau // Shoes - l.e.i. // Cardigan - New York & Company

Anytime someone says that I have an urge to sing the song from Lion King. Seriously, does anyone else do that? Or it is just me...

So I like to think of myself as a fairly organized person. But seriously, when it comes to weather--rain specifically--I am seriously never dressed right. I actually bothered to check the weather this time to see whether ( anyone read The Phantom Tollbooth?) where was I? Oh yes, um I checked the weather to see whether I should wear layers or not and too see how hot it was supposed to be. But for some reason I failed to see that it was going to rain. Now, apparently I left my rainboots at my parents house. But I still have plenty of other boots to wear. Since I didn't see this massive storm or even bother to listen to all the rain right outside the many windows in my house I wore flats. Not just any flats either. These particular flats apparently have a bit of a hole in the sole of the right shoe...I know this 'cause my right shoe was full of water by the time I'd made my way to the art building. And my left shoe was relatively dry...ish. Thankfully I had time to run home and switch shoes before my next class. And by that time it had stopped raining.

The awful thing is this is not the first time this has happened. And yet, I continue to make the same stupid mistake over and over again! Rainboots rain. Rainboots off...torrential downpour. People, I have actually worn rainboots on days with no rain. In my defense I actually checked the weather and there was supposed to be rain! I guess I'm just a dork :p

Scarves Are So Convenient!

Dress - Mossimo (Thrifted) // Belt & Scarf - Thrifted // Shoes - American Eagle // Balm Stain - Revlon Honey

So yeah, I'm officially back in the blogging world again. Not that I haven't been blogging. But my posts have been a bit sporadic :/ And I really didn't visit anyone else's blogs for a few weeks either. But now I'm glad to be back! Eh, and it made me realize how nasty my pictures are since I don't have the great outdoors in my backyard anymore. I will figure something out though. So I did homework all day and I am just done! See ya... (oh yeah, head scarves are great for bad hair days...)

Obviously I'm Not Feeling Creative Today

Dress & Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Hotcakes //

I had stuff to say earlier today...but I remember none of it now. Anyways, I started looking at other people's blogs again today. It's been like...3 weeks? idk, but it's been awhile. I really enjoyed the break even if it was because I was so sick :/

Darn it! There was something funny that happened during Web Design today but I don't remember what it was. I mean, there were plenty of hilarious things that happened in that class. You know...when you sit in class with friends :p Oh, and I know I've worn a very similar outfit before (um maybe twice?) but I count it as different 'cause I have different balm stain on. There. That's it. Apparently I used all my creativity at school today.

These Ain't Fashion Boots

Dress - Cato's // Belt - Thrifted // Jacket and Boots - Unknown // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic
So....I really don't know what to tell you about the pictures. I know, I's just all these excuses. But seriously, I have no idea why they're all messed up! Chrome was being all weird with BlogSpot and stuff and Firefox won't have anything to do the website (Mozilla Firefox or should I say Godzilla Flamewolf?) so here I am stuck with IE. Ugh, words cannot describe how much I hate IE, but it's the only browser that's sort of working right now. And for some reason it won't let me resize the pictures. Why?? Why are you doing this to me?? Oh well...
If I had to pick a category for this outfit, it would probably be Nautical Cowboy. I don't know why, but I do find that quite humorous. Hey, stripes and cowboy boots--therefore, Nautical Cowboy. I'm gonna go wrangle some seahorses now...ha ha ha... Anyways, when I see people wearing "fashion" cowboy boots I kind of have to laugh. Nothing says "city person" more than a pair of brand spankin' new, shiny and clean boots. I mean, go ahead and wear what you want, but I feel like cowboy boots are just something that only farm people should wear.  And here I am wearing "fashion" cowboy boots. Oh wait...except that these are totally not "fashion" boots. Folks, these are the real deal. Yes, these are legit boots with real horse poop and everything! Since I don't really show horses anymore (sad face) I figured I might as well put these boots to good use! And, just for some proof, here's one of my horse show ribbons. I should post some pictures of my horse now I guess...
Oh yeah, and in case you were, I'm still sick. I basically coughed up my spleen in my first class today :/ Blaaaaah. Health, where are you??
