Crazy Hands

Skirt - Lovely Day // Tights - Amazon // Shoes - Dooballo // Sweater - JCPenney // Scarf - Cato's

My friend, Dominic, took these pictures of me in the photo studio as we were cleaning up (I took the hand photo). They're a little grainy 'cause we had weird lights set up today that weren't really for portraits. Although you might have guessed that from the crazy hand picture. It's not the kind of thing I normally photograph, but it was still fun to do something out of the ordinary! All the photos ended up looking a bit creepy, haha.

Shades of Cognac

Dress - Walmart // Sweater - JCPenney // Belt - Thrifted // Tights - Merona // Shoes - Cato's

As I was running out the door, I realized that my shoes and belt were completely different colors. This really bothered me the rest of the day.

Fall Festivities

It's no secret I hate coming up with post titles. Don't ya love this one? So original... Anyways, It's great not having classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and not just 'cause I don't have to be on campus. Since the summer was so busy, my family occasionally plans fun things to do on Thursday afternoons! So a few weeks ago I met my family at the Cleveland Zoo and spent a few hours there before ending the day's festivities at Patterson Fruit Farm.

Guys, if you live anywhere near Patterson... GO. It's amazing. I'm not sorry at all to say that I bought two dozen donuts. Just for me. To freeze, of course, and eat throughout the fall. It's worth it though. They actually have a maple-bacon donut. And yes, it's as amazing as it sounds.

As much as I miss summer weather, I'm really enjoying fall! What fun things have you done this fall?

Micanopy

Dress - Lace Affair // Scarf - Cato's // Shoes - Hot Cakes

I'm still really tired after flying back from Florida yesterday and I actually typed "Hot Pockets" instead of "Hot Cakes." Ha. Yeah, I need sleep. Anywho, I'm back. Unfortunately. And it is DANG cold here! The past several weeks I've been in 95+ degree weather and it was only in the 60s today. (My mom even had on fuzzy socks!)

Well, these are pictures from Florida--I still have a few sets left to post. These are from Micanopy, a very very cute town in Florida. It's full of antique shops and art galleries! The funny thing is I really wanted to go back to Micanopy (I went several years ago), but I couldn't remember the name of the town. When we arrived at our destination I looked out the window and realized . . . this was the place I wanted to visit again! How convenient.

Anyways, like I said, I'm super tired. So, I'm off to bed!

Summer Scarf

Pictures by Catherine

Dress - Corey P. (JCPenney) // Belt & Shoes - Body Central // Scarf - Cato's // Watch - Flea Market

I only have a few days left in Florida, but it's been fun. Although I will definitely miss the 90 degree weather here, I'm ready to get back and see my family.

Anyways, I am very excited with how well these pictures turned out. I have my sister, Catherine to thank for that. I still need to get the camera all set up for her, and sometimes she doesn't always get the right part of the image in focus, but I think she's doing quite a marvelous job!

Well, I'm off to an auction with Catherine and Papaw!

Summer Plans

Dress - H&M (Thrifted) // Belt - Cato's // Necklace - Pat Catan's // Tights - Walmart // Shoes - Refresh // Ring - Thrifted

Believe it or not I'm still working on Spring cleaning. Last week it was warm and I had time to clean . . . and now there's a random snow storm. I do not feel like doing anything. Or anything besides curling up under a blanket with a heater, a cat, hot chocolate, and Netflix. Strangely I've actually been fairly productive today. Been working on finding a summer job. Maybe if I get one out in Akron I can keep working there through next semester. Although . . . I would love to get a job in Geneva-on-the-Lake since it's such a kitschy, but cute place.

Oh! I did actually have a job this past semester. I don't think I really talked about it here. Anyways, I taught Akron After School programs at a few different school in Akron. So for a few months I was a Kitchen Art Teacher. The program ended for the semester (just in time for finals too!) and now I need to find something for this summer! Because I have . . . no money.

Well, I'm happy to make summer plans especially 'cause it's so dang cold and nasty outside :( Hope the weather's better you all are!

Spring Cleaning

Dress - Corey P. // Belt - Cato's // Tights - Target // Shoes - Refresh // Cardigan - Forever21 (Thrifted)

So guess what I've been up to . . . Spring cleaning! It's gonna take awhile to get through everything, but I want to make sure I'm doing a good job. I'm not just cleaning though, I'm also organizing everything. And throwing a lot of stuff away. (Of course I'm passing usable items on to people who can use them) Is it sad that I'm actually really enjoying this? I LOVE THROWING STUFF AWAY! Last week I went maybe a little overboard and had to dig something I actually needed out of the trash can this morning. That's right, I went dumpster diving in my own backyard. Well, driveway.

I don't know what it is about Spring (or...you know, not Winter) but I just feel so much more productive and energized! Usually I don't get much done on Tuesdays and Thursdays just 'cause I'm so tired. But with the weather getting warmer I'm just getting so much more done!

I'll leave you with a picture of my un-brushed, un-bathed horse in his totally gorgeous winter coat :)

Too Tired to Think of a Title

Shirt - Liz Clairborne // Skirt - Thrifted // Belt - Cato's // Shoes - Faded Glory

So, I've actually been taking outfit photos the past week, but I really just haven't felt like taking the time to write anything. Well, actually this darn typography project is just using all my creative juices :/ (and I don't even think it turned out that well) Seriously, I think I've working on that poster about 12 hours at least in just the past few days. Not including the past several weeks I've been working on it. And it's not like that's my only class...gosh I have other homework too!

Speaking of other homework the last pic is of my first photography project. Honestly, I think it turned out really well considering that I really haven't used a camera before starting this blog. And this isn't digital either. This is darkroom stuff. I developed all that myself! Not really my favorite thing to do. But, the end result is ok I guess. I am excited about eventually getting a DSLR though. Using this camera has been fun to use 'cause even though it's all manual, the quality is so much better than my awesome point-and-shoot camera :p

Well...I probably should have gone to bed awhile ago...but I was studying for a midterm. Gosh, I've got so many projects due and tests this week it's crazy! And I'm still really sleep deprived from last weekend. I went to a conference with the Navs...but I might talk more about that later.

Hope y'all have a great day!

These Ain't Fashion Boots

Dress - Cato's // Belt - Thrifted // Jacket and Boots - Unknown // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic

So....I really don't know what to tell you about the pictures. I know, I know...it's just all these excuses. But seriously, I have no idea why they're all messed up! Chrome was being all weird with BlogSpot and stuff and Firefox won't have anything to do the website (Mozilla Firefox or should I say Godzilla Flamewolf?) so here I am stuck with IE. Ugh, words cannot describe how much I hate IE, but it's the only browser that's sort of working right now. And for some reason it won't let me resize the pictures. Why?? Why are you doing this to me?? Oh well...

If I had to pick a category for this outfit, it would probably be Nautical Cowboy. I don't know why, but I do find that quite humorous. Hey, stripes and cowboy boots--therefore, Nautical Cowboy. I'm gonna go wrangle some seahorses now...ha ha ha... Anyways, when I see people wearing "fashion" cowboy boots I kind of have to laugh. Nothing says "city person" more than a pair of brand spankin' new, shiny and clean boots. I mean, go ahead and wear what you want, but I feel like cowboy boots are just something that only farm people should wear.  And here I am wearing "fashion" cowboy boots. Oh wait...except that these are totally not "fashion" boots. Folks, these are the real deal. Yes, these are legit boots with real horse poop and everything! Since I don't really show horses anymore (sad face) I figured I might as well put these boots to good use! And, just for some proof, here's one of my horse show ribbons. I should post some pictures of my horse now I guess...

Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering...no, I'm still sick. I basically coughed up my spleen in my first class today :/ Blaaaaah. Health, where are you??

I'd Rather Wear Pajamas...

Dress - London Times // Belt - Cato's // Shoes - Mossimo (closeouts at Marc's) // Scarf - Thrifted // Balmstain - Revlon Cherish

I think it's weird how much I really love this outfit considering how bright it is...and how much pink there is! But seriously, this dress is so comfortable. Not to mention it looks great on me, if I do say so myself, haha.

Anyways, I wore this Thursday to classes and definitely not today. I kind of threw some clothes on to drive to my parent's house, but other than that it was a pajama day! Not gonna lie, first week of school was rough.  I was so sick that the first few days I could barely speak! And some of my teachers nicely said "Oh, I hope you get your voice back soon!" Yeah. When I do get my voice back they are going to regret saying that. I'm a loud person.

So, yeah. Pajama day. I spend almost the entire day just doing nothing. Well, nothing productive. It was awesome! I watched The Monkees, The Mighty Boosh, random YouTube videos, played Diablo III for a couple hours...oh, and watched some Revolution! Have you seen that show? It's pretty awesome! I just found out it was created by the same guy who created Supernatural...so that might explain why I immediately liked it. So I'm feeling a ton better now after being able to rest. And hopefully after this long weekend I'll be all ready for classes! Hope y'all enjoy your weekend too!!

Dinosaur Dig and Yet Another Birthday

Shirt - Zazzle // Skirt - Thrifted // Belt - Cato's // Plaid Shirt - Charlotte Russe (Thrifted) // Shoes - l.e.i.

And yet another birthday today! And there are still at least 3 more just in June! Today was my brother D's 5th birthday and he had a dinosaur theme. I unfortunately forgot to upload a picture of the cake, but it actually turned out really well! I got the best olive green color gradation for the T-Rex head though! Anyways, because of the dinosaur theme I knew I had to wear my Primeval shirt. I know I've said this before but if you haven't watched the show Primeval, you must!  The rest of my outfit was inspired by Abby Maitland (a character on the show). So it fit the theme perfectly!

I don't know why, but when I decided to take pictures I just told my sister, Catherine, to put on a plaid shirt and some boots and come with me. It ended up being really fun. I should do sibling photo shoots more often! On the way to the woods we grabbed a shovel and decided to do a dinosaur dig inspired photo shoot. We only had about 15 minutes so we didn't get too many pictures, but it was fun! I wish we could have found my dad's safari hat though--it would have looked cool in the pictures. And without dinosaur bone props it could look like we're burying something rather than digging something up. But, we did have dinosaur dig in mind when we took these pictures.

Well, I'm not planning to blog over the weekend 'cause I'm in my friend's wedding. But I have a post scheduled for while I'm gone. Well I hope y'all have a great day and thanks for reading!
