Art School Angles

So I have close to a year of photos to go through and post now. For awhile I thought I'd stop blogging altogether and just eventually either post a "goodbye" post or a last post or something, but for some reason I decided to pick it back up again. I'll stick with it as long as I'm having fun!

These are old. Almost a year old I think. I still love this dress though--and this outfit. My friend, Dominic, took these outside Myers School of Art.

Only in Ohio

Dress - Mimi Chica (Thrifted) // Sweater - JCPenney // Tights - Target // Shoes - Dooballo // Belt - Old Navy

It's supposed to be in the 40s all week and I'm sadly excited about it. It felt so warm today that I wasn't even surprised to see people without coats on!

Perspectives

Dress - Blue Platypus // Belt - Old Navy // Tights - Walmart // Shoes - Hotcakes

It's fun to do photoshoots and I owe I huge thank you to my friends Dominic Iudiciani (first four photos) and Jenn Shaw (last two photos--although I edited them) for letting me use these pictures on my blog! Didn't they do a great job? We're all in a portrait lighting class together and we often model for each other. And hey, I get some interesting blog photos! These are from last week, but we got some really, well, interesting ones today! Also, you get a glimpse of the University of Akron's art building in the background of these photos.

Night Sky

Dress - Walmart // Tights - Target // Belt - Old Navy // Shoes - DSW // Cardigan - JCPenney // Necklace - Modcloth

I forgot to take a close up picture of my necklace, but it's a moon. And I love it. Also, I've been informed that my pictures are boring with the same background. Why, yes, I am aware of this. But it's cold and you can't make me go outside!

Dinosaurs

Dress - Rock Steady (Modcloth) // Cardigan - JCPenney // Necklace - Thrifted // Belt - Old Navy // Tights - Walmart // Shoes - DSW

I've had this necklace for years, but it broke and I just never fixed it. I can't believe I just left it lying around for so long--it's a cool necklace!

The Saga Continues

Dress - En Creme (Modcloth) // Cardigan - Clothing Swap // Tights - Merona // Boots - Delia's // Belt - Old Navy

After losing my walking-to-class-in-the-freezing-cold buddy, I ran into yet another friend who walks the same way as me. How convenient. I forgot I got these boots from Delia's, did y'all know they're going out of business? They still have a few things and everything is around 50% - 70% off!

On a completely different note, I'm really tired of my hair like this. I really enjoyed letting it be natural (for the record it's very straight in these pictures), but I want to do something different. What do you guys think about shorter hair with bangs? If you have ideas you can send them to me on Pinterest! There's a link on the left side.

Dreaming of Florida

Shirt - Old Navy // Skirt - GAP (Thrifted) // Necklace - Forever21 // Shoes - Hot Cakes

I like to keep little icons on my laptop of what the weather is in Akron and Geneva since I tend to spend a lot of time in both cities. This summer I added a weather icon for Ocala, FL while I was down there. It just makes me sad to see that it's like 80-something in Florida...and it's generally really cold here. (Oddly enough, right now they all say 70 degrees, although the window is open right now and I'm pretty sure it is not 70 outside). As much as I love cardigans, it was so nice to not have to worry about bringing a cardigan with me everywhere in Florida! Anyways, I just thought of that 'cause these are pictures from Florida.

On a completely different note, I've really been enjoying my illustration class and I may post some of my work at some point. I'm really excited this semester 'cause I don't have any classes I absolutely hate. There are, obviously, some I like better than others. But for the most part, I'm enjoying the semester!

Don't Ever Lose a Spider

Dress - Freeway (Modcloth) // Cardigan - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Tights - Walmart // Shoes - Payless

I can think of some weird places I've seen spiders in my house, but I'll never understand the ones that decide to make homes in my shower! The other day I looked up and there happened to be one curled right up in the corner near the ceiling. Now for some reason my bathroom ceiling is really high and this part is over the shower . . . so there's basically no way to reach this part of the ceiling to rid my house of of this spider. Obviously this really bothered me. And now, after visiting my parents' house for a few days, I don't have any idea where this spider went. So . . . I lost the spider.

Still on showers and spiders . . . you know how you come up with the most random/weird thoughts in the shower? Well, as this spider was ruining my shower, my cat was trying to claw her way into the bathroom (Why do cats do that?). And then I thought Hey, what's the difference between cats and spiders. (I believe I already prefaced this with "Shower Thoughts" that should explain things). Anyway, first off, both cats and spiders remove unwanted pests from your home. Second, they both like to find one comfy spot with a good view of the entire area. Third, they sometimes like to stare at you and make you feel very uncomfortable. Fourth, they're both fuzzy. And lastly, they're both clearly evil. And yet, at least in my house, cats are very welcome, while spiders are definitely not. Maybe it's the extra legs. I seriously have the heebie-jeebies just from writing this and I keep feeling phantom spiders crawling on me. Well, here's hoping I don't run into any more spiders today!

Don't Spring Clean During Finals

Dress - JCPenney // Cardigan - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Shoes - Body Central

Well, I finally finished finals! I was planning to blog as I didn't have too much work to do, but I was favoring going to bed early and trying to get a good night's sleep over spending time blogging. I think finals went well, but I won't know for sure until I get all my grades back.

So, for some strange reason I decided to start Spring cleaning in the middle of finals. I don't know why this struck me as a good idea, but it did. After everything was all nice and clean I decided to do something even dumber thing (during finals week, that is) and bring up everything I owned from the basement and sort through it. It didn't really affect the amount of time I spent working on final projects, but that was still a rather dumb idea. My dining room now is completely full of containers and stuff I'm getting rid of. I must say, it's nice to not have all that unwanted junk laying around (and bothering me 'cause even though it's in the basement and I can't see it . . . I know it's there). But I still think I could have picked a better time to do this. The job is still unfinished and I'm planning to spend a few days back at my house next week finishing everything up. The sad thing is that I am going to need to Spring clean the upstairs again after this just 'cause all the basement stuff was so nasty and dusty.

Anyways, I'm definitely glad to be done with school for the summer!

Hello, Sweetie

Dress - Hot Topic // Cardigan - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Belt - Wet Seal // Socks - Walmart // Shoes - Hotcakes

I've posted my Doctor Who costumes before, but I had yet to buy actual everyday wear related to Doctor Who. That, my friends, is no more. I was at Hot Topic a few weeks ago with one of my friends from Akron and I saw this dress. Normally I'm hesitant to buy fandom shirts and such 'cause well . . . I don't really wear t-shirts that much. (side note: I did, however, buy a Supernatural shirt too. I have no idea when I'll wear it but . . . it was half off and . . . it was Supernatural.) But yeah, a dress I will definitely wear! I love that the colors are black and white too 'cause it should be easy to remix. Of course, I feel like the only color I should wear it with is Tardis blue, haha.

Anyways, if you haven't checked out Doctor Who yet . . . do it. Granted the first season is not my favorite, but if you prefer continuity I'd start with the first season (trust me it just gets more and more awesome). I actually found this show 'cause I'd been watching Primeval (another British show) and Doctor Who was supposedly a competitor show. Honestly, I'm not sure which show I like better 'cause they're both pretty awesome! Although, I'm only halfway through season 7 of Doctor Who at this point so no spoilers!

Probably my favorite episodes are the ones with the weeping angels (or basically anything written by Steven Moffat). I can't decide on a favorite Doctor though. What about you guys? Any favorite episodes?

Update: I just found the Just Being Molly and I'm linking up with her #fundaymonday link-up!

The Girl Who Waited...

The Hungry Earth Outfit 1: Shirt - St. John's Bay // Shorts - Walmart // Tights - JCPenney // Boots - Unknown // Jacket - Delia's
The Vampires of Venice Outfit 2: Shirt - Mossimo // Belt - Nine & Co. // Skirt - Gander Mountain // Tights - Mossimo // Boots - Hotcakes // Jacket - Delia's // Scarf - Walmart
The Rebel Flesh Outfit 3: Shirt - a.n.a // Jeans - Old Navy // Boots - l.e.i. // Jacket - Forever21

The girl who waited...an entire week to post. Well, I guess not an entire week, but it's been awhile. After I posted Paul's Halloween costume on my blog I was really looking forward to posting mine! Now, technically I only wore the first outfit this year, but I wanted pictures of the other two that I wore last year...and now I have all of my Amy Pond outfits together! I only went to one Halloween party this year :( because I was so sick the weekend before Halloween. Oh, and this is what I wore to school on Halloween, and I have one more picture to post of my other costume.

So, I don't know about you, but I just love Doctor Who! And Amy's outfit's are so fun! Seriously, she's why I own a bomber jacket. Yeah, Amy is probably my favorite companion. I could go on for awhile about how much I love Doctor Who...but I just realized I have one more assignment to do before tomorrow morning! Oops!
