Christmas in January

Dress - Modcloth // Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Walmart

Well, it's neither Christmas nor January, but these are pictures of the 4th of July that I'm posting in February, so kind of the same thing. I find it kind of weird that I'm posting pictures of Summer during the Winter, but it makes me very excited about the snow melting! It's not like I can complain about the weather though--it was 50 today! The cold makes me very irritated, so it's great that Ohio's had such a mild winter.

It's weird to think that this is my last semester. I always associate February with very cold walks to class, but this time next year I will (hopefully) have graduated and won't be in class at all! Seeing my portfolio coming together is great, and I can't wait for it to be done! Once more projects are complete I plan to post some on here!

Home for the Holidays

Dress and Cardigan - Modcloth // Tights and Watch- Walmart // Shoes - DSW // Belt - Body Central // Ring - Forever21

So, I had a weird finals week, but it's all over now and I am enjoying my break! I'm only waiting for one grade, but so far I've got all As!

I was playing around with lighting a bit and hopefully these look better than the last ones. Like the cat butt in the last photo? Haha, I'm not surprised she's in the photo, but I am surprised she's not blurry 'cause she was running all over the place like a maniac while I was trying to take these pictures! Also, I have no idea what I'm doing with my left hand in the first two photos. Whatever.

4th

Skirt, Cardigan, and Shirt - Thrifted // Shoes - Hotcakes

Right before we went to the parade Friday morning I looked back at the pictures from the 4th last year--it is amazing how much my family has changed in just a year! Just for fun I took outfit pictures in the same place. (even though I have used that same place many times...) I think the landscape might be only slightly different, but it looks very different with my new camera.

Aside from being a holiday, the 4th is also my mom's birthday. We always joke that the fireworks and parades are just a part of her elaborate party (which is even funnier if you know that my mom dislikes birthday parties for her). Anyways, the parade in the morning was pretty fun--and we reconnected with several old friends! Later in the day we went to the fireworks at Geneva-on-the-Lake. Honestly, I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the fireworks this year. We waited almost an hour for, what I thought was, a much shorter show than usual. Still fun though. I hope you all enjoyed the weekend as well!

Irrelevent Post Title

Dress - Modcloth // Jacket - Gift // Glasses and socks - Marc's // Shoes - Steve Madden

I think I may just start doing really random and/or post titles because, well, it's fun. And post titles generally are not. Also, I just don't care whether they have anything to do with the content of the post or not.

On a completely different note, whenever I write the word "whether" I want to spell it "wether." This is because I used to have several goats. Strangely I do not have this problem with the word "weather." (I'm assuming most non-goat people won't know what a wether is, so . . . yeah, just google it)

Looking at these pictures really makes me want to do my hair like this again. Right now it's usually just naturally curly like it is in the beach pictures from a few posts ago. Or, more likely, it's in a ponytail because of work and karate. Sadly, pin curls are just not the most practical option right now :( Speaking of karate, I started going back to classes after . . . well, years. I won't really go into too much about that now, but I will say that I am really enjoying it. Also, I hurt. Everywhere.

Just as a heads up I do have a few really cool posts coming up soon. I'll give you hint. Cars. Lots of them. Beautiful classic cars. Some of these pictures I've had for a long time, but I just never got around to posting them ('cause I never got a round tuit ha. ha.).

Well, that's it for now and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the holiday!

Easter Sunday

Dress - Fleet Collection (Also available at Modcloth) // Cardigan - J. Crew (Thrifted) // Belt - Wet Seal // Shoes - Payless

So it's a few days after Easter now--I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! This was probably the funnest holiday I've enjoyed in awhile! There was a great service in the morning. And the ham for dinner was fantastic . . . aaand, that's basically all I remember. The ham. It was good. Anyways, I did have to do a bit of homework, but the rest of the day I spent playing dutch blitz with my mom and my aunt. If you haven't played before, it's pretty fun (you can check out the website here). I think it's funny though 'cause every time I play I completely forget the rules and the game has to be completely re-explained to me. I usually catch on pretty quickly though (I would hope so since I've played before!). So yeah, fun game.

How was your holiday weekend? Tell me about it!

Thanksgiving

So I know it's been awhile since I've posted! I've been pretty busy with finals and stuff lately. Except for the two finals I have next week, I'll be done this Friday! And Christmas break can't get here soon enough! Although I've had a few frustrating classes, I really feel like I've learned a lot this semester, and there were several classes that I actually enjoyed going to! Still, I'm gonna enjoy Christmas break. I'm actually setting up my Christmas tree later today. Well, hopefully. I started setting it up yesterday, but I got distracted with some more poster designs that are due...soon. I did, however, get my nativity set up. And I really need to take a picture of the wise men because, due to someone else packing up my Christmas decorations, some stuff broke. But, instead of gluing these poor wise men back together ...I just set them up in a way that uses said breakage to my advantage. It's pretty funny :p

Anyways, I had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and I'm so glad I was able to spend it with my crazy family! I hope all of you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. Gosh, looking at these pictures is making me awfully hungry...

Oh hey! And these are the first pictures I have to post from my new camera! yay!

Festivities on the 4th!

Outfit 1 - Dress - Adrianna Papell (Thrifted) // Scarf - Thrifted // Shoes - Hot Cakes
Outfit 2 - Dress - LOFT (Thrifted) // Scarf - Thrifted // Shoes - Payless // Sunglasses - Charlotte Russe

Well, here are the rest of the pictures from the fourth! I hope y'all had a wonderful Independence Day. I'm so thankful for the freedom we have in this country!

In the morning we went to the annual parade in Thompson. Don't you just love us all in red, white, and blue? It's kind of awesome when you get 10 people in the same family to do it. Oh and I loved all the classic cars in the parade! I tried to get pictures of some of them :) Anyways, there's a thrift store in the same square as the parade so we checked that out before heading home. I got two pairs of vintage shoes for $3. No joke. I have super wide feet so I can never find vintage shoes that fit me (or shoes that cheap!). It makes me sad when I find awesome vintage shoes, but I can't buy them. But not today!!

The 4th is also my mom's birthday so when we got home from the parade we surprised her by dressing up like this. I thought of doing this because she loves the show White Collar and they had these really inexpensive FBI playsets at Dollar Tree. I wish I'd taken a picture when everyone was still dressed up. It was so hot that a few people changed before we could get the picture. It was fun to do though and my mom enjoyed it :) ...then we changed back into our red, white, and blue outfits and had some amazing turtle cheesecake that I made for her!

Later in the evening we went to Ohio Chautauqua to see a reenactment monologue of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry. It was really well done! Although I couldn't pay attention as much as I wanted to because I had to watch a couple of the kids and...well, they were bored :p I liked it though.

We went straight to Geneva-on-the-Lake to see some fireworks and even though we were more than an hour early we almost didn't get a parking spot! We just barely made it into one lot that had plenty of parking, but was super muddy. Right after we drove in, a couple cars got stuck and they closed the lot! The fireworks were great though and it was fun seeing them with my family. And yes, we sit on top of the car to watch fireworks 'cause we're awesome. We only live like 10ish minutes from Geneva-on-the-Lake, but in the post-firework traffic it took an entire hour! But, we did get to see another firework show from the car window while we were stuck in traffic :)

Hope your 4th was great :)
