It's A Jungle Out There

Shirt - LOFT (thrifted) // Jacket - Delia*s // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Maurices // Earrings - Handmade // Rings - Thrifted // Scarf - Thrifted

The title has nothing to do with the fact that the theme song to Monk was playing... Ok ok so my scarf reminded me of a jungle or a safari or something and right then the theme song to Monk came on. And Wha-BAM! I have a post title. That's how blogging works, y'all. Just kidding. I actually don't even like the title 'cause it's not that original. If for some reason I do actually like the post title, I can almost guarantee you that it took me all day to come up with it.

So, on that note, I'd like to tell you how one of my blog posts is created. First I start planning my outfit the night before. Sometimes I will lay out my outfit on a chair so it's right there when I wake up. Once I've made up my mind I will completely change the outfit around 10 PM. Then I'll either wake up or still be awake at 2AM and change the outfit yet again. Once my alarm goes off I will stupidly decide that I can afford to sleep another 30 minutes. When I finally drag myself out of bed I'll realize that I'm running really late. So, I'll change the outfit again, rush to put on my makeup and do my hair, and then change my mind about the outfit once again.

Once I'm at school, obviously I can't change my mind about the clothes. Thank goodness or I might never be dressed (although I'll have many dang it, I should have worn that instead moments)! I then spend my time in between classes (...or during class...) trying to come up with post titles and stuff to write about. Finally when I get home and begin to write, I completely change my mind again and just write about what's on my mind at the moment. And (I repeat my earlier statement)...Wha-BAM blog post complete. Then the cycle starts all over again. Ok, so some of that may not be entirely true...but it might surprise you what parts are true! Ironically, at one point, I actually had the entire week's outfits planned out and hanging on a clothes rack...that didn't last long. Anyways, if you blog, how do you write your posts/plan outfits?

Excersice ...check. Bible Reading ...check. (and yesterday too...I just forgot to post it).

Well, hope you have a great day! Thanks for reading!

Forgotten Stairs

Shirt - Maurices (Thrifted) // Scarf - Charlotte Russe // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Jacket - JCPenney // Shoes - Go Jane // Bracelet - Thrifted // Earrings - Big Lots // Rings - Thrifted
Photos by CT

These photos are actually from before vacation...but I got distracted with vacation stuff and didn't have a chance to post them. But here they are now! Obviously the writing is from before I left for vacation too :p

I don't think these are really forgotten stairs...but I didn't even know they were there until yesterday. And I think forgotten stairs are cool... Anyways, as I was walking to 151 (the printing room in Akron's art building) the other day I looked out the glass door, saw those stairs, and I thought wow that's a cool place to take pictures! The very next day CT tells me that we're taking pictures by the stairs behind the art building--the very same stairs I found the day before. Turns out I'm just a doof 'cause CT takes pictures there a lot and I just don't pay attention to my surroundings!

So I'm leaving for vacation in the morning! (as in last week in the morning...) I will still be posting (I did) and I hope that I will get some awesome pictures with the mountains as a backdrop! (oh wait we left the camera behind...so yeah that totally happened...I guess they came out alright :p) Can't wait!!! (truth) It's supposed to be in the 70s all week!! (It was...and a little in the 80s!)

Hope your day is fantastic!

Cold and Gray on a Rainy Day

Shirt - New York & Company (Thrifted) // Scarf - Thrifted // Pants - Buffalo Jeans // Boots - Target // Earrings - Thrifted //
Rings - Thrifted

Just when I thought it was warming up, it got cold.....and rainy! Anyways, since Spring break is coming up I've had a ton of homework! I wish I could look forward to warmer weather during break, but I'm just going back to my parents house for break. And apparently it's even colder there! Hope your break is (or was? schools are always different) warmer than mine!

The Girl in the Blue Scarf

So normally I would pick a good action movie over a chick flick, but I do love Confessions of a Shopaholic. Partly because the main character is a ginger named Rebecca (even though I spell my name Rebekah . . . it's close enough) and partly because of her obsession with shoes. Today's outfit is inspired by Confessions of a Shopaholic. Ok, really just the fact that I'm wearing a fabulous scarf. I love the fashion in the movie, but I wouldn't wear most of the outfits. I would definitely wear the green scarf though.

Striped Shirt - Wet Seal // Blazer - Target // Scarf - Hermes (Thrifted) // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Boots - Decree ("borrowed" from my mom) // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings - Forever21 // Bracelet - Handmade in Thailand

I based this outfit around the scarf. I liked the look of it with the white and black striped shirt. Of course, since it's still ridiculously cold I needed another layer. So, I went with my favorite black blazer. Even though the blazer is from Target, I actually bought it at Marc's for about $2. Just so you know, Marc's often has marked down Target clothes. Anyways, to dress down the blazer and scarf I chose blue jeans. I just got these jeans and they are officially my favorite! I love Buffalo Jeans so much--they fit me so well and they are so comfortable. The jewelry is basically what I wear every day.

The shoes are actually a funny story. I have numerous pairs of black boots, but when I went home for the weekend I found my these boots in my mom's closet. I don't think she's ever worn them. And they just looked so lonely sitting in the corner of her closet...so I may have borrowed them. The low heel was very comfortable for walking around campus. I have a short school day on Wednesday, but I also have Navs (an on-campus bible study) in the evening so it's kind of a long day, but the boots were comfortable all day!

Thanks for reading! Beck
