Bird Print

Shirt - a.n.a // Pants - a.n.a // Shoes - Thrifted // Rings - Thrifted // Shoes - Steve Madden (Thrifted) // Nail Polish - Revlon Blue Slate // Balm Stain - Revlon Smitten

No plaid today...so sad. But, I'm happy to be in colored jeans again. I don't think I've worn them much since  starting this blog. And I know I haven't worn these jeans on the blog yet. I stayed up way too late trying to get my room clean--but I made significant progress! And because I stayed up so late I completely forgot to make an outfit for today! This was what I came up with last minute ...and what I could find in all the mess. Seriously, it was supposed to be just a quick reorganization! But it's turned into such a big deal! Part of the problem is that I have all these clothes that I'm kind of attached to and I'm not sure I want to get rid of. And sometimes there are clothes that I bought recently, but I'm not in the mood to wear so I don't know what to do with them! Well, hopefully I'll figure it soon!

Anyways, what do y'all think of my hair? I really didn't do anything to it...I slept on it wet and it just dried like this. I kind of wanted to give my hair a break and see if I can get it back to as curly as it was before. After using the straightener on it for so long I want to give it a break. And, it would be nice to be able to just let my hair do what it wants instead of messing with it! It's a little messy right now, but I'm curious to see what it'll look like when it's been heat free for a while!

Blah ... these pictures really turned out terrible again :( Well Bible reading and exercise complete! Hope y'all have a great day--thanks for reading!

Clothes I Just Can't Get Rid Of

Shirt - Faded Glory // Scarf - Thrifted // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Walmart // Cardigan- Thrifted // Turquoise Ring - Thrifted // Earrings - Gift from my sister // Balm Stain - Revlon Romantic // Nail Polish - Revlon Vintage Rose

So as you know I've been trying to clean my closet...but it's not going so well. This shirt and scarf were both in the pitch pile and then I thought wait! I can think of so many ways to wear those. And here they are. Saved from the pitch pile. And now I love them. I guess this is a good thing, 'cause now I have more wearable clothes than I thought. It was almost a dumb idea to completely empty my closet 'cause it wasn't unorganized...I just thought I had a lot more to get rid of. But I'm not putting anything back in my closet unless I really love it! I should be cleaning right now...but I've been working on finals stuff. Now I'm just done for today. Eventually I need to get everything cleaned off the floor, but I guess not yet.

On another note, I'm finally wearing my...well they're not Toms...I call them Sams 'cause they're from Walmart. I guess I'll just call them canvas shoes. I wanted Toms for so long, and I was so excited to see a cheaper version at Walmart. They're soooo comfortable, I don't know why I haven't worn them before. Oh wait....it was snowing and freezing cold until recently! I guess I could wear them in the winter, but I don't really want to when I have fuzzy boots!

Bible reading and exercise...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great day!

Belle

Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Vest - American Eagle Outfitters (Thrifted) // Skirt - Gap (Thrifted) // Shoes - Maurices // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings - Forever21 // Necklace - Gift // Balm Stain - Revlon Charm // Nail Polish - Revlon Vintage Rose

This is another Beauty and the Beast inspired outfit. Well it wasn't really inspired by Beauty and the Beast, but it's another outfit that makes me think of Belle. I really like this outfit and it's definitely more my style than my outfits last month. I think this would look great with a pair of brown oxfords, but it looks fine with my moccasins. I was going to wear the oxfords, but I felt really sick this morning and my moccasins are just the most comfortable shoes I own :) It's funny 'cause I was out shopping with my mom on black Friday last year and these moccasins were an impulse buy. But, it was definitely the best impulse buy I've ever made! I wear these shoes all the time!

So...I only have a week and a half of school left! Well and then finals week, but after that I'm free! It was a really rough school year, but I think I'm gonna make it! I can't wait for summer. I know I'll have to work, but I like that better than school. I'm really looking forward to graduating, 'cause I'm really tired of being in school. Don't get me wrong, I like graphic design. But, I wish I didn't have three more years of it before I could work for real :(

Bible reading...check. Exercise ....check well sort of. I felt sick all day so I did a really quick exercise today. I knew that if I skipped altogether my motivation to exercise ever again would be completely gone. That's what always happens. Every time I think I'll start exercising something happens. Usually I get sick and then decide to start exercising as soon as I feel well...and then, well you know, I just never do it. On another note, it's hilarious because whenever I exercise my cat decides she has to be right there. Today she sat on my back while I did push-ups, on my stomach while I did crunches, and on my shoulders when I did squats. No joke! It was hilarious!

Well, thanks for reading and I hope y'all have a great day!

A Not So Rainy Day

Dress - Cocomo (Walmart) // Arrowhead Necklace - Skyline Caverns giftshop // Green Necklace - Thrifted // Turquoise Ring - Thrifted // Green Ring - Sky Caverns giftshop // Boots - Rocket Dog (Modcloth)

I was saving this post for a day when I had a lot to do and not a lot of time! That happens to be today. Ironically, it actually did rain today. I just wrote this post title in hopes that it wouldn't rain I guess...

It's funny 'cause I couldn't think of any other ways to style this dress when I put it on...so I almost didn't want to wear it for some reason. But, y the time I got home in the evening I'd thought of like 5 other ways to wear it. Honestly, I'm so surprised that I made it through the day without getting something on it! I'm usually a very messy person, and I was in the art building all day too! It was a Tuesday so that helped because I don't have any drawing classes that day. I can't wear any light colors Monday, Wednesday, or Friday because I have Life Drawing and that room is so full of charcoal!

So, here are some things I'm loving right now :

Song - Can't Stop by One Republic. Sorry for the weird pics in the video--it's the only full version of the song I could find.

TV Show - Well, I'm still watching Supernatural and Monk.

Movie - Stranded it's a re-imagining of Swiss Family Robinson. Plus, Andrew Lee Potts is in it.

Blog - A. Loo's Closet A Christian, stay-at-home mom with a fabulous, retro style!

Clothing - My chambray dress from JCPenney's (seen in this post).... except that the zipper just broke. Funny, now I want to wear it like every day, and it's probably just because I can't.

Oh, and before I forget. Yes, Bible reading and exercise completed!

Well, hope y'all have a wonderful day! Thanks for reading :)

A Day in DC

Museum of the American Indian

Photos by me and Laura

So we spent the day in Washinton, DC! I've been to DC before, but it's been years! The cherry blossoms were in bloom and it was beautiful! I had a really interesting time people watching--there are some really well dressed people in DC. There were a couple of people in really cute dresses and black tights...they looked fantastic, but they must have been uncomfortably hot! I know I was pretty warm and i was in a short sleeve shirt and rolled up pants! I'm not complaining though! I love warm weather!! I will take uncomfortably hot over uncomfortably cold weather any day!!!

Anyways...we started out by stopping in at the Freer Gallery of Art and then made a quick stop at the Air and Space Museum. We then decided to separate because some people wanted to walk to Ford's Theater...and Laura and I didn't really want to... Its not that I didn't want to see Ford's Theater, I just didn't want to make the mile walk! So instead Laura and I went to the Museum of the American Indian and then the Museum of Natural History. The rest of the fam caught up with us later, but they didn't get to see that much. So I'm glad I made the decision I did.

The architecture in DC is just amazing! The design of the Museum of the American Indian was just so pleasing to the eye. And the design of the exhibits was really interesting as well. Instead of having everything lined up, the artifacts were arranged in interesting patterns. It was definitely a great museum! Before going to the Museum of Natural History, we stopped at the sculpture garden by another art gallery, took a few pictures, and then sat by the fountain dipping our feet in the water. Considering how hot it was, that fountain was amazing! We then headed to the natural history museum! Ok, I kind of love the Museum of Natural History...the dinosaurs, the ocean room, the mammals, basically everything. They even had a special orchid exhibit! I love orchids! They're my favorite flower! So even though we took tons of pictures already, we had to take more :)

The rest of the fam eventually met us at the Museum of Natural History and then we went to eat at The Old Post Office. It was just this big, cool building full of cheesy booths and sketchy dining options. That said, the interior was pretty cool as you can see from the pictures! We bought the cheapest hotdogs in the building and kind of overwhelmed the woman behind the counter because there were so many of us. None of the food places looked entirely sanitary...so I'm a little scared...a lot scared. Definitely worried. Anyways we were really burned out after that and, after a quick stop at the Washington Monument, we headed back to the Metro Station and then to our cars. A fun but tiring day!

What about you? Have you been to DC? What's your favorite museum?

Well, I hope your day is fantastic! Don't forget to follow, and like Finding Inspiration on Facebook!

"I Don't Care if the Sun Don't Shine"

I love this picture except that my sister's dog is in the background...

This is what happened when I tried to get the dogs to move! They followed me right back to the waterfall--that's their favorite place to sit!

So this is the outfit that I wore on Easter Sunday. It was also my last day of spring break. I had a wonderful break spending time with my family, but I'm ready to go back to school. Ha! Just kidding! I'm totally ready to for summer and to be done with the semester! I'm so glad that break was so late in the semester because now I have only a few weeks left! And, this Sunday I'm actually going to take another break and go with my family to Massanutten Resort!!! I'm so excited not only because it's really nice, but I know there will be some really awesome places to take pictures! I just have to make it a few more days in school. Not to mention my least favorite class was canceled this week...YEAH!! So I'd say it's been a pretty awesome week! Oh yeah, and I'm wearing more dresses..and it's warmish! So yeah, I'm happy!

Back to Easter Sunday...I thought my family looked pretty spiffy this Sunday and I took pictures of my mom and my sister, Laura, to show off their cute outfits :)

Laura's Dress - JCPenney

Mom's Dress - Merona

Don't they look fantastic :) Hope you have a great day! Oh yeah, and what do you think of my lipstick? I haven't worn real lipstick in a long time! And this is pretty bright!

"Tale As Old As Time"

Wish this weren't so blurry...but it shows the back of the dress nicely.

….Just sayin’ but I’m SO glad I didn’t get pictures of my experiment with eyebrow pencil. It was horrific. I got some new makeup and I was just playing around with it when I got the idea to try darkening my eyebrows. So imagine dark eye makeup, really bold lips, and CRAAAZY EYEBROWS! …and that’s when my mom walked in. I don’t remember exactly what she said but it was something about looking like a murder clown and my eyebrows looking like caterpillars dancing above my eyes. But hey, at least she was honest!

Anyways, I love this dress! I look like Belle from Beauty and the Beast! Not gonna lie--yes, I was singing Beauty and the Beast songs all day! Oh! And, I’m so excited just to be wearing a dress!!!! It’s still fairly cold outside, but I missed wearing dresses so much that I decided to just go for it! I have NO tolerance for cold and usually have to wear several layers in the winter, so I don’t really wear dresses that much until it’s warmer. I see other people wearing awesome skirts and dresses in the frigid cold and they look…well, cold. What about you? Do you wear dresses in the winter? And how do you keep warm?

Have a great Easter weekend!!
