So as you know I've been trying to clean my closet...but it's not going so well. This shirt and scarf were both in the pitch pile and then I thought wait! I can think of so many ways to wear those. And here they are. Saved from the pitch pile. And now I love them. I guess this is a good thing, 'cause now I have more wearable clothes than I thought. It was almost a dumb idea to completely empty my closet 'cause it wasn't unorganized...I just thought I had a lot more to get rid of. But I'm not putting anything back in my closet unless I really love it! I should be cleaning right now...but I've been working on finals stuff. Now I'm just done for today. Eventually I need to get everything cleaned off the floor, but I guess not yet.
On another note, I'm finally wearing my...well they're not Toms...I call them Sams 'cause they're from Walmart. I guess I'll just call them canvas shoes. I wanted Toms for so long, and I was so excited to see a cheaper version at Walmart. They're soooo comfortable, I don't know why I haven't worn them before. Oh wait....it was snowing and freezing cold until recently! I guess I could wear them in the winter, but I don't really want to when I have fuzzy boots!
Bible reading and exercise...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a great day!

Forgotten Stairs
Shirt - Maurices (Thrifted) // Scarf - Charlotte Russe // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Jacket - JCPenney // Shoes - Go Jane // Bracelet - Thrifted // Earrings - Big Lots // Rings - Thrifted
Photos by CTThese photos are actually from before vacation...but I got distracted with vacation stuff and didn't have a chance to post them. But here they are now! Obviously the writing is from before I left for vacation too :p
I don't think these are really forgotten stairs...but I didn't even know they were there until yesterday. And I think forgotten stairs are cool... Anyways, as I was walking to 151 (the printing room in Akron's art building) the other day I looked out the glass door, saw those stairs, and I thought wow that's a cool place to take pictures! The very next day CT tells me that we're taking pictures by the stairs behind the art building--the very same stairs I found the day before. Turns out I'm just a doof 'cause CT takes pictures there a lot and I just don't pay attention to my surroundings!
So I'm leaving for vacation in the morning! (as in last week in the morning...) I will still be posting (I did) and I hope that I will get some awesome pictures with the mountains as a backdrop! (oh wait we left the camera behind...so yeah that totally happened...I guess they came out alright :p) Can't wait!!! (truth) It's supposed to be in the 70s all week!! (It was...and a little in the 80s!)
Hope your day is fantastic!

A Day in DC
Museum of the American Indian
The Old Post Office
Photos by me and Laura
So we spent the day in Washinton, DC! I've been to DC before, but it's been years! The cherry blossoms were in bloom and it was beautiful! I had a really interesting time people watching--there are some really well dressed people in DC. There were a couple of people in really cute dresses and black tights...they looked fantastic, but they must have been uncomfortably hot! I know I was pretty warm and i was in a short sleeve shirt and rolled up pants! I'm not complaining though! I love warm weather!! I will take uncomfortably hot over uncomfortably cold weather any day!!!
Anyways...we started out by stopping in at the Freer Gallery of Art and then made a quick stop at the Air and Space Museum. We then decided to separate because some people wanted to walk to Ford's Theater...and Laura and I didn't really want to... Its not that I didn't want to see Ford's Theater, I just didn't want to make the mile walk! So instead Laura and I went to the Museum of the American Indian and then the Museum of Natural History. The rest of the fam caught up with us later, but they didn't get to see that much. So I'm glad I made the decision I did.
The architecture in DC is just amazing! The design of the Museum of the American Indian was just so pleasing to the eye. And the design of the exhibits was really interesting as well. Instead of having everything lined up, the artifacts were arranged in interesting patterns. It was definitely a great museum! Before going to the Museum of Natural History, we stopped at the sculpture garden by another art gallery, took a few pictures, and then sat by the fountain dipping our feet in the water. Considering how hot it was, that fountain was amazing! We then headed to the natural history museum! Ok, I kind of love the Museum of Natural History...the dinosaurs, the ocean room, the mammals, basically everything. They even had a special orchid exhibit! I love orchids! They're my favorite flower! So even though we took tons of pictures already, we had to take more :)
The rest of the fam eventually met us at the Museum of Natural History and then we went to eat at The Old Post Office. It was just this big, cool building full of cheesy booths and sketchy dining options. That said, the interior was pretty cool as you can see from the pictures! We bought the cheapest hotdogs in the building and kind of overwhelmed the woman behind the counter because there were so many of us. None of the food places looked entirely sanitary...so I'm a little scared...a lot scared. Definitely worried. Anyways we were really burned out after that and, after a quick stop at the Washington Monument, we headed back to the Metro Station and then to our cars. A fun but tiring day!
What about you? Have you been to DC? What's your favorite museum?

Mysterious Hallway
Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Scarf - Charlotte Russe // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Go Jane // Bracelet - Handmade// Earrings - Big Lots // Rings - Thrifted

So...I think these pictures turned out fantastic! This mysterious hallway is actually just the front hall of my house... As you can see, my cat likes the camera today. And she likes my photographer! Which is good because Rachel's gonna take care of my cat while I'm on vacation! My family is going to Massanutten Resort in Virginia--I hope to get lots of good outfit pictures!
So...Friday Favorites (or I guess Saturday Favorites?...whatever). So original right? I don't know if this is going to be a regular thing or not, so I didn't really put any thought into that title.
1. I'm totally obsessed with Buy the Stars by Marina and the Diamonds! I'll be honest...I'm kind of a sucker for any song with lyrics about stars. I really love astronomy and took a course in it even though I didn't need any more sciences.
2. So I LOVE OneRepublic's new album Native. (YouTube Amazon) So I haven't listened to OneRepublic since Apologize (YouTube Better Song YouTube Better Video Amazon) but I totally love this album! I kind of love tribal print and accessories right now and when I saw the Native cover I was just like Please please let the album be good! 'cause the artwork is awesome! It turned out awesome! It's really not the genre I usually listen to, but I've been expanding my music horizon recently. Oh, and I really love the song Counting Stars...well that's interesting Star is in the title again...
3. So yeah now that I'm making this list I keep thinking of more music to post! What you're seeing here is totally different than what I usually listen to, so I'll eventually post some old favorites...but enough music today. Here's a YouTube Video that I seriously can't stop watching. Yes...I have a very weird sense of humor, but I just love FilmCow. So here's Professor Toothy. I seriously don't get why I find this so funny...
4. Ok so this movie looks really interesting. I've never even heard of The Purge until it came up as an ad on YouTube. This is a very interesting and original concept so I'm looking forward to seeing the movie!
5. I never really got the whole Harlem Shake craze...some are kind of funny and some aren't. But this one is seriously the best. Why? Because it's the cast of Supernatural!

Valentine's Day ... in March
Shirt - Wet Seal // Blazer - Mossimo // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Flats - Claire's // Earrings - Handmade in China // Bracelet - Handmade in Thailand // Rings - Thrifted
Photos by CT
Normally I like to have all my outfits picked out a week ahead of time. But if I don't do that, I at least pick the outfit out the night before. This week I think I've only worn one of my planned outfits (that would be yesterday's outfit). The rest of the week I'd pick out an outfit and then change my mind the next morning. This morning I had at least three different outfits picked out before I ended up wearing something completely different this morning. I ended up with this outfit--it's the outfit I wore on Valentine's Day and I was just in the mood to wear it when I woke up!
So, I had a fun Friday! After classes my friends and I played giant Jenga again! Later in the day I had dinner with the Navs and watched The Incredibles. All in all, it was a great end to the week!
