I Got $20 in my Pocket...

So yes, I went thrift shopping!! And I actually did only spend $20! I was looking forward to today all weekend!!! It was a great start to my spring break week! So, I went to the mall with my sister Laura of Princess in Mudboots in the morning. But, I didn't buy anything because I knew I'd be going thrift shopping in the evening with some of my friends from Navs (the on-campus Bible study I'm involved in).

We all met at the Goodwill in Akron around 4PM.  Here's some of the awesome stuff we found:

Some awesome red boots--Ted Mosby approved.

Here's my friend Rachel (you know her better as my photographer R. Parker) modeling some awesome shoes. She didn't buy them because they were a little squishy in the toes. I didn't buy them 'cause I already have a pair very similar.

We all loved the pattern on this jacket, but it was just too big and didn't look good as an oversized piece.

This shirt looked so cool, but was too small for anyone. Seriously, I never would have tried this on, but Rachel finds the coolest stuff in thrift stores! Oh wait...then I found this...

I seriously just wanted this dress to have as a costume! It's sooo cool!!! And it made me feel like a princess lol

I'm at my parent's house now and I don't have all the stuff that I thrifted with me, but I'll get pictures of that stuff up after Easter. Anyways, after we spent hours in Goodwill, Amanda (another friend from Navs) suggested that we go to the Village Discount Outlet right down the road. We didn't spend as long there, but I did find this amazing hat. And it reminded me of this.

I didn't end up buying the hat, but I've always wanted a big hat like that and I always wondered what it would look like an me. So, it was good that I got to try it on. I'm thinking I'll eventually buy one now that I know I like it.

After thrifting we ate at Arby's then went to Amanda's house to watch Mrs. Doubtfire. Awesome night :) Anyways, here's some pictures of the outfit I wore.

Sweater - Thrifted // Jeans - Old Navy // Flats - Target // Earrings - Purchased at a market in China (it sounds so much better than "Made in China" 'cause I was actually there and I bought those earrings...) // Bracelet - A craft store // Rings - Thrifted

Well, that was a long post! Anyways, I will get pictures of my thrifted stuff up as soon as I go back to my house after spring break. I know school's schedules are all different, but how was your spring break? And do you think I can pull off a hat that huge?

Spending time with my family!

So this is my first day home on Spring break. As you can see...there's snow here. Seriously!! Why is there snow on the ground!! I want it gone!!! Anyways, I don't know if y'all know this but I have seven younger siblings. So you can imagine how loud it is at my house. Among some other very strange conversations I overheard, I did hear a few siblings arguing about who gets to name the turtle. ....We don't have a turtle. I still don't know what that was about. There was funnier stuff, but I really have a terrible memory! So while some of the kids went to a sleepover, I went shopping for Easter dresses with mom and some of the kids! We went to Plato's Closet, JCPenney's, and Target. I would have loved to go to a few more stores, but with that many kids it gets tiring fast!

One more note....I've been thinking of cutting my hair and I don't know what to do with it! Bangs maybe? but then I tried a little 50s style hair and makeup and I kind of love it. Thoughts? Sorry it's not the best quality--cell phone pic :p

PS thoughts and opinions on how I should get my hair cut would be awesome!

Another comfy sweater!

Shirt - Unknown because the tag is cut off (Thrifted) // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Boots - Steve Madden (Thrifted) //Necklace - Thrifted // Bracelet - Handmade in Thailand // Rings - Thrifted // Earrings - I think my sister gave these to me?

Spring break!!! So happy! I plan to do lots of thrifting! I also plan to go through my closet once again and see if there's anything I don't wear anymore and get rid of it. The one thing I can NEVER get rid of is shoes! Honestly, even if I don't wear them that often I still keep them 'cause I just like looking at them.  Is that weird? I just like my shoes! Some people collect stamps...I collect shoes. Do you collect anything? Oh yes, and those boots are Steve Madden....thrifted....yes

Cold and Gray on a Rainy Day

Shirt - New York & Company (Thrifted) // Scarf - Thrifted // Pants - Buffalo Jeans // Boots - Target // Earrings - Thrifted //
Rings - Thrifted

Just when I thought it was warming up, it got cold.....and rainy! Anyways, since Spring break is coming up I've had a ton of homework! I wish I could look forward to warmer weather during break, but I'm just going back to my parents house for break. And apparently it's even colder there! Hope your break is (or was? schools are always different) warmer than mine!

First Day of Freezing Spring!

Trying to hide my chipped nail polish!

Shirt - a.n.a // Cardigan - Old Navy (Thrifted) // Jeans - Buffalo Jeans // Shoes - Lower East Side // Earrings - Forever21 // Rings - Thrifted

Why why why is it still so cold!!!! I'm just dying to wear skirts and dresses and sandals. But I can't when I have to walk around campus. I know other people do, but I'd just freeze to death! Anyways, not being able to wear skirts has just left me in a fashion funk! I'm a little sleep deprived so I keep wearing my softest jeans and comfiest shoes! And because of that I feel like I'm not being that creative. Well, I'm definitely looking forward to it being warmer so I can wear summer clothes!!!!

I do love this shirt though! I love British TV shows--my favorites are Doctor Who and Primeval. Anyways, a shirt that says London on it is pretty awesome. Speaking of awesome....my photographer gets to go to London this summer! I know! I'm so jealous!  Hope you had an awesome day!

Normally I like to have all my outfits picked out a week ahead of time. But if I don't do that, I at least pick the outfit out the night before. This week I think I've only worn one of my planned outfits (that would be yesterday's outfit). The rest of the week I'd pick out an outfit and then change my mind the next morning. This morning I had at least three different outfits picked out before I ended up wearing something completely different this morning. I ended up with this outfit--it's the outfit I wore on Valentine's Day and I was just in the mood to wear it when I woke up!

So, I had a fun Friday! After classes my friends and I played giant Jenga again! Later in the day I had dinner with the Navs and watched The Incredibles. All in all, it was a great end to the week!

Totally Tubular!

Yes, there's pen on my hand....left over from Navs the night before.

So today's outfit is 80s inspired. Now, when I hear 80s I immediately think of bright leggings, cutout sweatshirts, leg warmers, big hair, big earrings...anyways not stuff I want to wear. But, I started watching Murder, She Wrote and saw that not all 80s fashion is horrible! Some of it's pretty cute! So to channel the 80s I chose I loose fitting, ivory sweatshirt and lightwash distressed jeans. I'm definitely not doing big hair, instead I went with a loose braid. So, I like totally love this outfit--it's soooo tubular! This outfit was perfect because it was so comfy! Soft sweater, soft jeans, and super comfy shoes!

As tired as I was all day, I was really looking forward to that evening! I had a great time hanging out with my friend and photographer R. Parker! We found this great mosaic mural in the Student Union to use as a background for the pictures. After taking the pictures it ended up being pretty late so R. Parker and I went to McDonald's to eat. Another late night, but it was worth it!
