I Wear Your Grandma's Clothes

Shirt - St. John's Bay (Thrifted) // Skirt - Sorbia (Thrifted) // Belt - Thrifted // Shoes - Rocket Dog (Modcloth-but they're out of stock) // Tights - Charlotte Russe // Earrings - Thrifted // Ring - Gift from my dad

I know the song says grandad, not grandma. But, it's my grandma's shirt. And belt. That woman really knew how to dress. When she passed away my mom and I kept a few of her clothes. My grandma was so creative--she could sew, paint, and DIY anything! I love that I can put on a shirt or a belt and think my grandma wore this. Anyways, sorry for starting out on such a somber note, it's just that these clothes remind me of my grandma. Funny thing is though, this outfit definitely looks like grandma clothes, but she had a much more modern style while I prefer vintage clothing. It's just the different ways we style the same things!

So I think my pictures have been turning out better, but not today. My cell phone camera takes pretty good pictures when there's good lighting. Well, it was really crappy weather all day (It was hailing at one point!!!) and dark by the time I got home...so not so great pictures. Oh well, as soon as I get a summer job I hope to invest in a better quality camera. Exercise and Bible reading...done. Thanks for reading! Hope y'all have a wonderful day!

  1. Hah, I love that song! I always get a stupid grin on y face when it comes on and the other day my husband said "hey, I heard this song on the radio and it made me think about you." (Which could be good or bad, but I guess I'll go with good. It's a entertaining song and it makes us thrifters happy.)
My grandma is the same way, I try to take my inspiration from her because she's one of the stylish ladies I know, even as she's getting close to 90. (She still wears leather skirts, high boots and dyes her hair. She's awesome and she has the craziest collection of pretty jewelry.) I think it's sweet that you have items that belong to your grandma and they make you think of her, she obviously had good taste!

    1. Yup, every time that song comes on the radio I turn the volume up as loud as it can go and just shout the lyrics!

  2. This is a really pretty outfit. This kind of skirt is just so fun to wear. The belt and boots really complete the outfit and give it edge.

  8. So amazing that you can wear something of your grandmothers.
I own a dress of my grandmothers but it is really formal so not sure if I will get a chance
to wear it. Wish I could have had something I could wear day to day.
    Looks great on you.
