I'm sitting outside on the back porch of our condo just thinking about how much I love the sound of the air conditioner. And...now that I think about it the sound itself is actually really annoying, but I associate it with summer and heat so the sound just makes me happy!

So, it's the hottest day of the week and I'm super excited to wear a tank top! I've been looking for a tribal print tank top for a long time and it was awesome to finally find this one at a thrift store! On another note I'm not happy to be wearing boots...even if they do look awesome with this outfit... We went hiking today and those are the best shoes I have for wilderness exploration. Why we went hiking instead of swimming on the hottest day of the week I'll never know...but it may have something to do with my mom not wanting to go during a slight drizzle because her hair might frizz. She claims she's a country girl, but I know there's a city girl in there just dying to get out.

We had a great time hiking though...even if we went farther than I thought we would. I was under the impression that we wouldn't hike that far because I have so many younger siblings. But apparently they have more endurance than me. I was done after the first mile...but no, we had to go 5 more miles... At least the walk was beautiful. Laura wasn't with me the entire time, so I tried to teach my 8-year-old sister, Natalie, to use my cell phone camera. I'm actually surprised with how well the pictures came out! I think she did a wonderful job! The rest of the hike she kept pointing out good places to take pictures. :) It was funny though when I tried to teach her the difference between portrait and landscape...she kept saying "lambskate." Oh, it was so cute!

I can't believe this vacation is almost half over! Anyways, I hope your day is fantastic! Don't forget to follow, and like Finding Inspiration on Facebook!

  7. Lambskate, that's adorable! My daughter calls caribou "care-a-moos."

These are such pretty outside pictures, I always love seeing people out and about in nature and it's great to see pictures of different states that way. Kids are pretty hardy, I know my siblings and I use to hike everywhere when we were little. (We were lucky and lived right on the side of a mountain way, way out of town, so lots so places to explore.) Your sis did such a great job taking pictures, these came out so nice!

Thanks so much! Yeah, the rest of my family lives in the woods, so I guess they hike a lot! I'll make sure to tell my sis that you liked the pictures! She'll be super happy :)

  8. Beautiful! The moss on the rocks reminds me of my childhood.... We had this large rock outside my house growing up (in our backyard) and my sister and I used to "clean it" by picking off all the moss. There is actually a picture of us on the rock when we were little in this post on my blog. Thanks so much for giving me such a sweet memory. =]
