A Lovely Red Scarf

I went to the mall with my sister today...and I didn't buy anything. It was so hard, but I have no money right now. Anyways, the hardest thing was not buying scarves. I'm kind of in love with almost any scarf from Charlotte Russe. Laura needed some sunglasses and Charlotte Russe usually has cute, inexpensive sunglasses. So, as I'm trying to help Laura pick out some sunglasses for an upcoming trip (more on that later) my eyes keep wandering over to the scarves. But...I bought zero scarves. After cleaning my closet (ok so it's almost done) I realized that I really never need to buy another scarf. It's scary how many I have...

Later today I went with my mom and youngest sister, Natalie (who took the photos today), to a local library for a crochet class. It's actually pretty fun! And Natalie did really well :) I learned how to crochet at probably around her age, but no one taught me anything beyond the basic chain stitch and not how to do rows or anything. So...I had a bunch of long crocheted yarn chains when I was little. Today I actually learned how do rows! My crocheting is pretty crappy at this point, but I now have a little bit of an idea of what I'm doing. I have some ideas of projects I'd love to do when I get better at it. One book had directions on how to do an adorable crocheted purse!

That's it for now :) I just worked for like 5 hours at least on a self portrait for my life drawing final...so I skipped exercising. But, I did my Bible reading today. Well, thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!

PS yeah...photos still not the best. I'm tpo far away from my other photographers and my mom's camera is still broken. My cell phone camera takes ok pics when there's good light out...but it was after 8 and the sun was setting fast! Hoping this will change soon...

Outfit Under $15

Shirt - Merona (Thrifted) // Skirt - Christopher & Banks (Thrifted) // Shoes - Mossimo // Necklace - Skyline Caverns Giftshop // Ring - Gift
Photos by Laura and Natalie

Yes, this entire outfit is under $15. Well, at least when I wore it this morning. I didn't realize how awful my hair looked this morning, so I didn't have the hat on until later...and then it was sunny out so I added the sunglasses. Otherwise, it was under $15. I think with the hat and glasses it comes out to around $25. Still pretty awesome.

I didn't have the hat on this morning 'cause I wanted to wear it with a similar outfit tomorrow...but I don't know what I'm gonna do now. Anyways, after church this morning my brother had a soccer game so I added the hat and sunglasses because there was actually sun outside today!! His team didn't win, but they did tie...so close enough! When we got home I really need to work on my final projects, but instead I went swimming in the river with some of my siblings! So fun! My family owns a lot of land and part of the Grand River runs through our property. It's a nasty river, but ya know...it can be fun if you're desperate to swim! The day ended with a family dinner outside around the fire. I'm just so excited that it's finally warm outside to do all of this fun stuff :)

Well, bible reading and exercise (I'm counting all the climbing up and down the ravine to get to the river as my exercise...) done again today! Thanks so much for reading! I hope y'all have a great day :)

Alright now I'm liking my hair better. I always have to pin my bangs out of the way, but yesterday I pinned them up too far so it looked weird to me. Today they're back in their normal spot so I'm ok with my craazy hair now. Anyways, I went to a barbecue tonight for the last NAVS dinner. It was great just talking with everyone, eating hamburgers, and sitting in front of the fire. I now smell like a campfire and it makes me want to go camping. Actually I've had a serious case of wanderlust lately so camping would be great... I think I may spend a weekend camping for free in my backyard this summer. My family has a lot of land, so I could definitely find a good spot to hang out for a little bit. Actually, I'm kind of jonesing to take a road trip--if only I weren't so afraid of driving to new places :/ I am getting much better at it actually, so maybe one day I'll be able to go on my dream road trip!

Today was my last official day of classes. Woooo!!! No more classes!!!!! I do have to go in next week to hand in final projects, but I'm done with everything else!!!! Anyways, short post 'cause I need to finish cleaning my closet. It's been like what....two weeks? But, I made some serious progress last night and I'm almost done. Hopefully this weekend should be the end of it!

If you've been reading my blog for a little bit, you know I've been using it as a way to keep myself accountable for reading my Bible and exercising every day. It's been really helpful so far and I've been 100% with Bible reading and I've only missed one day of exercising so far! Today I did both :) Yay for responsibility! Well, thanks so much for reading and I hope you have a great day!

Day two of no heat hair.... not sure what I think. I'm gonna let it go until the next time I need to wash it, but after that I'm not sure whether I'll go back to flat ironing it or not. And I feel like it makes my face look....weird. It's not like the flat ironing takes a lot of time. I just do about 3-5 minutes the first day and then occasional touch ups throughout the week. I feel like I spent more time this morning just trying to get my hair to curl in one stubborn spot than I do flat ironing my hair. It's frustrating when it curls so nicely in some places. But only some places...gosh my hair is weird.

Well today was the last day of most of my classes--only one more class tomorrow!! And I don't really have a whole lot of finals work to do, thank goodness! Finals week last semester was horrible! And I was not looking forward to pulling 7 all-nighters.... again. But, it looks like I have everything in order this semester. Yay! I'm so happy right now. One more week 'til summer break and it's finally warm!!! I'm really excited that next semester I will have all classes that relate to my major!

Oh, and I have wedges on today! Well, more importantly, sandals. I realized that this is the first time I've worn sandals this year! It was weird, but awesome at the same time! Yes, I did my bible reading and exercise today--I'm on a roll. And...I got distracted for awhile 'cause I had to google the origin of the phrase on a roll. Haha, I'm so easily distracted! Well, hope y'all have a splendid day--thanks for reading!

Bird Print

Shirt - a.n.a // Pants - a.n.a // Shoes - Thrifted // Rings - Thrifted // Shoes - Steve Madden (Thrifted) // Nail Polish - Revlon Blue Slate // Balm Stain - Revlon Smitten

No plaid today...so sad. But, I'm happy to be in colored jeans again. I don't think I've worn them much since  starting this blog. And I know I haven't worn these jeans on the blog yet. I stayed up way too late trying to get my room clean--but I made significant progress! And because I stayed up so late I completely forgot to make an outfit for today! This was what I came up with last minute ...and what I could find in all the mess. Seriously, it was supposed to be just a quick reorganization! But it's turned into such a big deal! Part of the problem is that I have all these clothes that I'm kind of attached to and I'm not sure I want to get rid of. And sometimes there are clothes that I bought recently, but I'm not in the mood to wear so I don't know what to do with them! Well, hopefully I'll figure it soon!

Anyways, what do y'all think of my hair? I really didn't do anything to it...I slept on it wet and it just dried like this. I kind of wanted to give my hair a break and see if I can get it back to as curly as it was before. After using the straightener on it for so long I want to give it a break. And, it would be nice to be able to just let my hair do what it wants instead of messing with it! It's a little messy right now, but I'm curious to see what it'll look like when it's been heat free for a while!

Blah ... these pictures really turned out terrible again :( Well Bible reading and exercise complete! Hope y'all have a great day--thanks for reading!

Plaid Goes With Everything

Dress - Converse One Star (Target) // Shirt - St. John's Bay // Shoes - Restricted // Socks - Marc's // Green Ring - Giftshop // Claddagh Ring - Gift // Necklace - Giftshop // Nail Polish - Revlon Blue Slate // Balm Stain - Revlon Charm

I have an obsession with plaid at the moment! And as I'm still cleaning my closet, I'm so excited to see how much plaid I have already! I got this dress years ago when I had no fashion sense whatsoever, but I am so glad I kept it. I can think of so many ways to style this dress--I can't wait to wear it again!

It's hard to believe that school is almost over. One of my classes ended already and it seems like it was January just yesterday. Oh wait, it was January cold just a few days ago....maybe that's why... Anyways, it seems like the cold spell is finally gone for good! I just checked the weather and it's in the high 70s all week long!!!! I'm so excited for warm weather! I'm still taking a cardigan with me, but I haven't had to use it. I probably should use it during my Production 1 class, but I'm stubborn and refuse to wear it because it's almost May even though I'm freezing. It seems that my classroom are all different temperatures too. Any classes in the Honors building are basically the same temperature as outside and the art building is all different. Drawing Techniques classroom is comfortable, Production 1 classroom is freezing, and the Life Drawing classroom is really hot because of all the bright lights in the room.

Well, now that it is warm enough to take pictures outside I'm actually going to miss campus. Seriously though, that's the only thing about the campus that I'll miss. I do think these pictures turned out very nice though :) Well, I exercised and read the bible today. I've been doing really well lately! This blog has really helped me to keep track of my Bible reading and exercise and helped  me stay motivated! Anyways, I hope y'all have a wonderful day--thanks for reading!

Wantr Review

So, I got an email a few weeks ago to try out a new website called Wantr. It's basically a giant wishlist for almost any store you can think of. It's most useful for sale items though. You can choose to follow the stores you like and when you log in you can see new items from those stores and add them to your wish list--or you can want the item. I think it's a great idea for a website! And a way to keep all your wishlists in one place! It's not something I check every day, it's more like once a week. But, I have fun finding items I like. Oh, and if there's a store you like that isn't there, you can add one. I added the Shabby Apple feed 'cause there wasn't one yet.

The downside is that it doesn't show the price of the item on Wantr. From what I hear, they're planning to add that to the website in the near future. There is however a direct link to the item from the Wantr website. You can choose to follow your friends on Wantr and other people can follow you and see what's on your wishlist! It's not a feature that I use that much though--I think other people will like it, but it's just not something I'm that interested in. Other than that, it's been a cool website to try out and I think it's a great idea! Try it out for yourself! Let me know if you like it :) Oh, and it's free!

This is what I see when I log in

This is the Shabby Apple sale feed

My mouse isn't showing up, but I was hovering over the dress I wanted to add to my wantlist. I then just had to click on the + Want button to add it.

This is my wantlist. And you can see the dress I just added in the lower left corner.

Here are some of the feeds you can follow.

Well, I hope y'all give Wantr a try! Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading!
