13 Month Blogiversary

That's right, it's been exactly 13 months since I began blogging! (Also, I'm exactly one entire month late with this blogiversary post...but we'll forget that happened, right?) It's been a great and crazy year, and now that the weather's nice again I look forward to take pictures out in the woods again!! And doing some fun stuff.

Anywho, let's see what happened all this past year!

March

So, March was when I first decided to blog and you can see my very first post here. I started out wearing pants a lot (seen here) and now I just have a bunch of jeans that I don't wear that much anymore. Oh well, I'll probably wear them eventually. Anywho, even though I wore a lot of jeans, I knew I eventually wanted to wear dresses and skirts more. And here is probably my first foray into wearing dresses. Not that great, but not that bad either. I wouldn't wear this nowadays, but yeah you can see where I was attempting to go with my style!

April

Although Easter was technically in March of last year, I didn't post until April. Here you can see my love of the 1950s showing, even though this outfit still needs a lot of work! I think it was suggested in the comments that I wear a peach cardigan. And, while I agree, I think I only had like a black cardigan and a gray one at that point. I now not only have a peach cardigan...I now have a lot of different colored cardigans. Makes life (and getting dressed in the morning) easier.

Also, in April, I took a week off of school to go down to Massanutten resort in Virginia. Gosh, this place is really fun! I think I wore mostly pants that week, but still got one dress in there. On a random note, I finally replaced those black combat boots! They may have looked cute, but they were way too small! (Clearance for $5 is my excuse...) Anyways, that was a really fun vacation and I'm glad I get to go back and read about it!

May

In may I wore a few dresses again and attempted, for the first time, to let my hair go natural. That...did not go well. I mean, I guess it looks alright here, but yeah I wasn't ready to go curly yet. In other news, I finished my first year at the University of Akron in May and went on a business trip to California with my dad and sister in May! I got to go to a lot of the same places I did before when I was in California the first time and retake pictures--so fun! I miss California now :( Oh! And in California we got to go to the Winchester house...again. Gosh, that place is SO cool. 

June

Nothing too eventful in June. I tried to go running. That...did not go well. I also volunteered at Hannah's Home. I drove back up to Akron for a Bible study. Aaaand.... Oh! My Papaw was in town, so we went to a bunch of antique places and auctions! As you can see, I'm wearing dresses a lot more this month.

July

In July I wrote my 100th post! And did a bunch of super fun things! We went boating, to see the Tall Ships in Cleveland, and I went to DC (again) on a road trip! Looking back, I think this was one of the funnest months last year. Some of my favorite memories are from July! I wore a lot of 50s inspired things this month. and lots of red lipstick!

August

Very busy month, August. Camp Friedlander, beach vacation and going back to school. I hadn't been to camp in years, and it was so fun to finally to actually enjoy a week at camp! Also, my family hadn't been on a beach vacation in awhile...so yeah, very very fun. I was not looking forward to school starting, but it was a decent semester and now I'm halfway done!!

September

School. Although I did get to go to the titanic exhibit at the Cleveland Science Center and that was fun. I remember being sick most of the month. Oh yeah, I started getting sick during the beach vacation... Haha, I just found this post. Apparently I was so tired I put a pair of shoes in the fridge. What's even funnier is that I just put a pair of boots in the freezer, on purpose, to stretch them out (it actually works--check this out).

October

More school. And more sickness. Also, Halloween. So some good stuff! For a Halloween party I dressed up as Erza Scarlet (from Fairy Tail, my favorite anime) and at school I dressed up as Amy Pond from Doctor Who. Also, I think this is the month I decided to let my hair go natural. It was...interesting for awhile.

November

School + sick. Surprised? Apparently my immune system is not that great. Two cool things in November though. I did a ton of research and finally bought a DSLR, a Pentax K-30 (It's water sealed, guys. It's amazing). And also...lipstick. I was watching a Doctor Who episode one day, liked Clara's lipstick, and went out and bought some as close to her color as I could find. L'Oreal Saucy Mauve. The verdict? I'm still wearing that color! I love it! Oh, and Thanksgiving.

December 

School finally let out for winter break! I was also still sick though, of course. I went down to Florida briefly. That was pretty fun! I got to see a bunch of antique cars at Don Garlits too!

January 2014

Back to school. But not as sick though. Mostly posted about Florida.

February

School. And I tried to get back into the swing of things with blogging...fail.

March

School. And I think I was sick a little bit this month, but not too much. I've been in relatively good health this semester! Also, a lame attempt at a blogiversary post. Buuuut, you can see my crazy curly hair now! I actually really like it now :)

April

April? Well, that's now, actually. So you'll have to keep reading to find out what happens! Thanks so much to all my readers :) You guys are awesome! It's been so fun writing this blog and seeing how much my style has changed over the past year. And I've had so much fun following along with your blogs as well :) Hope this next year is just as great as the last one!

One Year and One Week . . . ish

So I've been officially blogging for an entire year now! Technically March 5 was the actual date...that's why it's one year and one week. With midterm projects and stuff, I kind of had to put this off a bit. I had wanted to wait so I could put together a cool post with my thoughts on blogging after an entire year and some of my favorite photos. But, that did not happen. My life will hopefully be a little less crazy next week (hopefully) but yeah, I figured that it might be better to just get something posted now and wait 'til I actually have time to do a good job.

One of the huge projects I've been working on is my portfolio website! Now, it's far from being done. But...you can see what I've done so far here.

Ok, so I lied about posting once or twice a week. I'm trying! So it's been almost two weeks since my last post. But. It has been less than two weeks. Meaning I'm already doing better than the past few months. Part of the reason I've been more busy is because I finally got a job! I'm teaching a few after school art classes! Speaking of which . . . I'll probably have to leave soonish. (As in this was a few hours ago. I'm back now)

It'll be really sad if I write this post and then forget to post it when I get back. (No, I actually remembered) I'm waiting mostly 'cause I just can't think of a title. (Still true) Would it be terrible if I just started using titles like "Post #1" Eh, it should be more creative than that. But that's what I want to do. I'm so glad yahoo mail doesn't freak out when you don't put a subject line in emails anymore. So now . . . I don't use subject lines. Seriously, sometimes I'd spend more time on the subject line than the actual email!

Well, that's it for now. I should be . . . well, doing more important things (like homework. as you can see from my very not creative title.)

New Schedule!

When I started blogging I really didn't have much going on and I really needed to do something that at least felt productive in my spare time. I really had fun with it in the spring and especially in the summer (probably because it was warm!). And then I started posting less and less during the last semester. I knew I didn't want to stop blogging altogether, but I also didn't want a schedule. Not using a schedule really worked before and I was posting several times a week. But, now I'm considerably busier--I also finally have a job--and I still want to keep blogging. And, as you can see, I've done a great job with that (sarcasm).

Well, as I said before, I don't really want a schedule. And I don't want to completely stop posting. I also don't want to post every day. So, here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to post 1-2 times a week now (sort of a schedule). Doesn't really sound like much, but it's a huge improvement from posting 1-2 times a month. Nice, Rebekah, nice.

At this point I've been blogging on and off for almost a year and I've decided that I like it--so no quitting yet! And, I've got . . . well, a lot of car posts that I'll probably space out over the next couple of weeks. I also see that I still have almost all my followers still--even after not really blogging frequently for so long. Thanks for sticking around!

Don Garlits

If only . . .

So over Christmas break, while I was in Florida, I had the opportunity to go to Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. They also had an antique car building. . . which I found much more interesting. Anyways, if you ever happen to find yourself in Ocala, FL you should check out this museum--it's pretty cool!

Speaking of cool...well, not cool, but how 'bout freezing. It's been in the single digits during the day...and below zero at night here in Akron. oh. my. gosh. It's cold. Dang, it's cold. But, fleece lined tights? Y'all, those are awesome. But seriously, I miss Florida . . . and it's beautiful weather!

New Year, New Post

So yeah, I realize it's been quite awhile since I've posted anything.  It's been since last year, in fact! (and I don't even have an outfit picture, really) It's cliche, but time really has flown by. I can't believe I have to go back to school on Monday :( I did miss my house and it will be really nice going back knowing I left it clean!! And, my dad's awesome, so he's gonna stop by tomorrow and turn the heat up so it will be all nice and warm when I get there!

These pictures are from Downtown Disney when I was still in Florida. I'm home now, but coming back to below zero weather (during the day!) was really...not fun. Anyways, Downtown Disney. That's always a fun place to go! That hot air balloon looked really fun--and it was really fun to take pictures of it. Oooh! You see me and my brother trying on all the cirque du soleil masks...well, I'd just watched Worlds Away the night before! So going to their store was really cool. I'd love to see Cirque du Soleil one day! Oh, and if you have Netflix, watch Worlds Away--it's really cool!

If I remember right, this was the day before New Year's Eve... On New Year's Eve we played cards and the older kids stayed up and watched Doctor Who most of the night! Definitely a great way to start the 2014! Well, hope this new year will be amazing!

Christmas Vacation

Well, it's been a busy past few weeks! Busy, but fun. I'm actually in Florida right now visiting my Papaw :) But, like I said it's been busy. It's not like we've been going lots of places...it's just that it's a lot of work being on vacation when you're not a kid! I hope your Christmas was great--I know mine was!

So one of the funnest things I've done since getting to Florida was going out to dinner and to see a movie with my dad! I finally got to see Thor: The Dark World, which I must say I liked a lot better than the first one! Anyways, after the movie we were supposed to go to dinner...but that didn't really work out at first. Since the movie was late, we had to find a restaurant that was open even later. But, when we got to the one I picked out it was closed already. An hour early. Yeah, great. And we couldn't find any other restaurants so we were about to just settle for fast food when we finally found a restaurant that was open later. And, guess what. It was right next to the theater we had just driven away from :p So we drove all over tarnation just to end up right back at the same place! Oh well, it was still fun! And, by the way, my dad is really awesome 'cause he still makes sure to spend one-on-one time with all of his kids even though he has so many of them!

Oh...and I wore the same dress as in the pictures too! Haha. Even though the material's a bit thin, I do like it better with tights. Anyways...hope the rest of 2013 is great for y'all. Considering my posting schedule the past few weeks I'm guessing I won't get anything up until next year :p

PS I keep forgetting to say that my brother Michael's been taking most of my pictures lately 'cause my new (awesome) camera's too big for the old tripod. Thanks, Michael!
